Design Visage — Attraction in Costa Mesa

I couldn't have chosen a better hair and makeup team for my special day.

Let me begin with where it all started, I emailed 6 hair and makeup vendors for my special day. Design Visage was the only company to actually call me and talk with me about my vision, desires, and plans for my wedding. After talking with Jackie on the phone, I knew that I would book Design Visage. Jackie's customer service made me feel as if I had knew her for years and I felt confident that Design Visage would make me feel beautiful on the day of the wedding.

Fast forward a few months, and COVID-19 hit our June 13, 2020 wedding date hard. Jackie was so kind, patient, and reassuring with me through the whole postponement and rescheduling process. We had several phone calls and emails trying to pinpoint a new date. I was able to book a new date, which was August 7, 2020. I booked it kind of short notice; however, Jackie was able to accommodate my new date.

I had my wedding preview with Kim, who was EXCELLENT! Kim was so kind, warm, and gifted. My hair and makeup looked beautiful.

On the day of the wedding, I expressed to Kim that my soon-to-be hubby preferred a "tighter" look in my hair rather than loose curls in the back. Kim was able to deliver it perfectly. When I looked in the mirror after Kim finished my wedding hair and makeup, I cried. I could not believe how beautiful I looked. I am not the most confident person in the world, but wow. On that day, I have never felt prettier and could not stop looking at myself in the mirror. Kim, THANK YOU. My hair and makeup was on point throughout the day and highlighted the features that I love. In addition, my bridesmaids and mom's makeup looked perfect as well.

Working with design visage made the hair & make-up scheduling for my 2-day wedding a breeze. The leadership worked extra hard to make sure that I had the same artists on both days, to minimize variables and stress for me. They had me send inspiration photos ahead of time so that on trial day, the artists had already previewed what I was thinking. I should note that they also allowed my mother to do a trial H&M!

Stacey was my makeup artist -- She was extremely thorough in asking me my preferences for coloring. We trialed airbrush makeup, but I decided that I would prefer non-airbrush (to minimize variables that I was unfamiliar with and because I like minimal coverage). She took notes during our trial and worked to make sure I was comfortable with each detail on the day of, building up from minimal coverage to more, since I described that I usually don't wear much makeup. Everyone in my party looked gorgeous!!

Joey was my hair stylist -- It is clear that she loves what she does and thinks carefully and reflects on her design choices. I chose to do an updo one day of my wedding events and hollywood curls the real wedding day. Both days looked gorgeous! She took feedback well from the trial. My only comment about room for growth is that we ran behind on the first day of my wedding, and one person still hadn't had her hair done by our "ready time."

After my trial, I sent plenty of feedback via email about what I would like the same/different on wedding day, and all of this was taken into account graciously by the artists.

Coupled with finding the most prefect dress, I am a firm believer that hair and makeup is right up there in a wedding day investment. I couldn't be anymore pleased and blessed that I made that investment with Design Visage team and Lauren specifically . The whole process was seamless...initial booking, payment, trial and most importantly the flow of the wedding day. Being in the industry ( managing Lin & Jirsa photography) I know that running on time on the wedding day is crucial. The majority of my experiences in weddings I've been part of, is that the hair and make up run over, taking away from photography ( one of the biggest wedding expense! ) I had 9 bridesmaids, 2 moms, 3 grandmas, 3 aunts and 2 flowergirls + ME to get done ! Woo weeee! But Summer, the manager, did a great job of getting the right amount of stylists and scheduling that everyone was on time and lookin' gorgeous!!! Additionally to running on time, I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt in my entire life! I did a second look for the reception and Lauren was on time, got me pretty in a timely manner for us to head down to our cocktail hour and take more pics. I couldn't be any more happy w the service from the second I booked to the end of my wedding day! On quite possibly a stressful day, the last thing you want to do is stress about being on time...
