Susie sure knows how to throw down in the bakery bcs her cupcakes will take any competitor down on Cupcake Wars!

I'll have to open up a thesaurus to ensure I don't overuse "delicious" in this review...but simply put, the cupcakes AND cookies from here are DELICIOUS!

It was Employee Appreciation time at my work and one of the special things my employer did for all of the employees was to do surprise deliveries to each of our worksites. A surprise delivery in itself was sweet enough, but when we saw them carrying in a box of these beautiful and delectable cupcakes from Susie Cakes, we felt so spoiled...AND WE WERE! To get cupcakes and cookies that look and taste like they came straight from Bakery Heaven, ran by Susie herself, was simply THE BEST!

There was an array of flavors to choose from, which made it easy for everyone in the office to enjoy. I helped myself to a chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate cupcake. My chocolate cupcake was just the right balance of sweetness, chocolatiness, and fluffy, moist cake-ness! I devoured the entire sizeable cupcake all by myself, without feeling like I had an IV of sugar running through my veins. Great for me, but not so great for my partner, who was hoping to try some of my cupcake #toughcookies (which you won't be getting at SusieCakes!)

Speaking of cookies, the chocolate chip cookie I had was the size of my face! Despite efforts to only have a couple of nibbles of it throughout my 8-hour workday, the soft, chewy, chocolatey goodness kept summoning me to make it disappear faster, and so I did just that....I scarfed it down in a matter of minutes. #sorrynotsorry. I couldn't help it! If someone knows how to say "no" to Susie's buttery, sweet cookie goodness, please call me!

The scrumptious treats not only made their way to our 40+ worksite locations, but they also made their way to the bellies and hearts of each and every one of us at work! Needless to say, Susie has been added to my phone and she's on speed dial for any future baked...

SusieCakes, now open in Costa Mesa at the South Coast Collection, had a Grand Opening Celebration for people to enjoy.

DJ MoJoe spun the 1's & 2's for our audible pleasure.

For the kiddo's, facepainting & balloon characters brought smiles to their faces.

Passed trays of various complimentary baked goods were brought out by the friendly staff-

SusieCakes makes home-style American dessert favorites from scratch. No mixes, artificial ingredients, HFCS or trans fat. I can definitely taste the difference.

Even though there was a large crowd during the time I was there, the staff were quick & efficient with taking orders and ringing up customers.

You can also see the employees hard at work, whipping up their delicious baked goods for the masses.

All the samples were a pleasure to eat. I think I ate too fast because I started to feel a wee bit sick ;p Good thing I had spicy miso ramen at Santouka Ramen afterwards, with the fatty broth to soak up all that sugar.

Service was excellent, along with all the desserts. My mom was appreciative of the items I brought her. Parking is complimentary valet & self-parking near the OC Mart Mix.

SusieCakes, congrats on your newest location! I'm a fan of your bakery delights. I admire your philosophy of creating from scratch & using high quality ingredients. Here's to much success & I know I will be back in the near future!

DELICIOUS!!!!!! These cakes are scrumptious and SUPER soft! We ordered these for our staff appreciation and they were such a hit! They offer a wide variety, so there is definitely a flavor for everybody. They even have flourless cupcakes, which didn’t appeal to me but the sweet employee Cynthia convinced me to get one and she was right, it was amazing and you couldn’t tell it was flourless! The frosting had the right amount of sweetness for me (sometimes it can be overbearing but not Susie Cakes). I also bought a slice of lemon cake for myself and that is definitely worth the calories. The lemon curd in the middle is yummy! All the staff was so friendly, especially Katie and Cynthia, who patiently waited for me to pick out the flavors. My top 3 flavors are: Red Velvet, Lemon Cake and Coconut. Our staff is spread out all over Southern CA, so I go to experience 3 of Susie...
