Cardiff Snowcraft — Attraction in Cottonwood Heights

As much as I would love to recommend and support a local brand, Cardiff has made it difficult to do so. I purchased the Goat board last year, and after one run, the top sheet began to delaminate from the board. I did not hit anything on the run, and show no signs of damage or scratching anywhere near the delamination. I attempted to get it sorted under warranty, which resulted in short, mostly unhelpful communication from the warranty department. They would ask for a detail, and then I would not hear back for weeks. Then I would get another email about the process, followed by more radio silence. This continued for months, culminating to today, almost a year out from the original purchase with no resolution or apparent care from the warranty department. I truly thought a local brand would have more for me after a defect on a $1,200 board, other than “try marine epoxy”. Very sad situation leaving a poor taste in my mouth, along with warnings about Cardiff to every member of the industry that asks me about...

I cannot thank Cardiff enough for helping me with my back country set-up. All of the stores employees are great down to earth people. They genuinely want to help you get set up with gear that is going to work best for you and your wallet. They have extensive knowledge of all things snowboarding and were very helpful in answering any question I threw at them. They allowed me to demo boards to find what would work best for me. All of their boards are high quality and ride fantastic, but I ended up going with the Lynx. They also offer a backcountry essentials course to help get you more familiar with riding in the backcountry and prepare you for an avi 1 course. Love supporting these guys and will always be my first go to! They are absolute pros and clearly love what they do. Jmo and Mikey were extremely helpful getting me on the perfect board. Both have gone above and beyond for me on this with Mikey even offering to put another fresh coat of wax/check tune etc with just minutes before closing. Def didn't have to do that and very much appreciated. They offer extremely inexpensive yet hugely valuable demo time to make sure you love it before buying. The Goat solid happens to be one of the best experiences I've had on a board so far. Somehow feels super solid charging down groomers, floats very well in powder and then magically gets super nimble in the trees. Can't ask for much...
