This park is so beautiful. I love the "adult playground" with all the workout equipment, right next to the children's playgrounds. I love that they have pingpong tables, I need to remember to bring some paddles and pingpong balls next time. -2stars though because there is not one speck of shade anywhere on the kids playground. My daughter actually burned her legs on the springy squirrel at 10am which had been baking in the sun since sunrise. So if its after 10am we can walk the short paved path over the bridges, and find some shade there, but then we leave. The disc golf course looks amazing (and has lots if shade!) Goat island is just a fun area to explore in general, everyone should check it out. I just hope they have plans to put in some permanent shade canopies or fast...
Read moreBeautiful, clean, well-maintained park with wide, paved walking paths, trails, South Fork River access, streams, pedestrian bridges, fishing pier, kayaking & canoeing access, wildlife, playgrounds, exercise areas, picnic tables, a covered shelter, grills, outdoor ping-pong tables, disc golf, ample parking, and public restrooms nearby. And that's what I can remember off the top of my head! Also provides access to a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail that connects a residential area with the park by way of a pedestrian bridge. Went walking with my sister here today and had a great time! Nice, wide-open, well-kempt areas to enjoy. Saw a few large turtles and what looked to be, maybe, a great blue heron (?). I look forward to going back and I highly...
Read moreOur family loves Goat Island. It is a small park but is charming and convenient to the small shops of Cramerton. Don't everyone come all at once because there is an emphasis on "small". I don't recommend bike riding here, there simply isn't enough room with all the pedestrian traffic, and this is a small (I did mention it is "small") park with lots of families with additionally "small" children. Note the park closes at dusk and is lock gated. Litter bugs and people with pooping animals ARE NOT welcome and if you are coming be friendly. Rude and obnoxious people...
