The 1206 — Attraction in Crete

I am so happy that I randomly met Elayne and her family at a bridal expo, the 1206 was exactly what we were searching for in a wedding venue space and we hadn't been able to find it in Lincoln! Our wedding theme was very Victorian gothic/medieval vibes so we really didn't want a rustic/barn style venue, and everywhere else we looked at felt very corporate and depressing and devoid of any character or charm.

The 1206 is decorated beautifully in a way that it has it's own character and life, but you can still add your own style for whatever type of event you are wanting to host there. Also Elayne is a professional photographer so she very meticulously chose the lighting to make for beautiful photos! (I don't have all my wedding photos back yet but can add more later - but even the photos of people dancing in very dim lighting turned out amazing in my opinion!!)

Elayne and Justin were also so helpful and accommodating, they worked with our wedding planners and other vendors to make our day as stress-free as possible, and even made a few last minute requests happen for me that I was not expecting.

My husband and I (let's be honest - mostly me, the bride) also REALLY wanted to be married under a giant, beautiful, elegant tree and were starting to lose hope until Elayne & Justin offered their beautiful property as a ceremony location! I believe they mentioned potentially offering that as an option in the future so if you are looking for a beautiful, nature-focused outdoor ceremony venue, ask them about it! Our photographer (Jesi Lee Portrait Photography) really loved the bridal suite for the bridal portrait photos and I am obsessed with how the sneak peeks turned out!

The venue is beautiful and the owners are really nice. It is somewhat new and the owners are still figuring things out. They kept changing things on us. We met with them for the first time in the fall (2021) and they explained all their prices and beverage options. When we met with them a few weeks before the wedding, they changed a bunch of stuff and a lot of the things we originally talked about we could no longer do. (We originally wanted a keg and were told we could. Right before the wedding we were told we couldn’t, so we needed to change our plan for beverages.)They have a kitchen, but if you want to use it, they charge extra (they kept changing the price of the kitchen every time I asked about it). It’s perfectly fine to change things, but in my opinion, once a contract is signed, nothing should be changed. They also don’t allow a rehearsal the day before, which should honestly be included considering how much it costs to rent the place. If you want a rehearsal with food, it turns into...

1206 is a cozy and elegant event rental space, so beautiful you don’t need decorations. The venue is up to date in all ways: decor, flooring, tables, bar, stage, bathrooms. The owners and staff went above and beyond to make the baby shower run smoothly and made our guests feel extra special. Everything from a customized “mocktail” for the mom-to-be, help with set up, espresso bar, background music and friendly service throughout. They made a medium sized event flow smoothly and I cannot thank them enough. The owners were responsive, helpful, and thoughtful....
