Wow! Amazing. The tour was amazing and totally worth your time and money. The restored painting brought back to life that survived fires, water damages, and tears in the original canvas is amazing. The time created to put this cyclorama in place is worth all the time put into it. Definitely worth it if you want to see fine detail up close with your own eyes and narration of events that took place on the battlefield. The artists involved creating this painting and narrators who helped bring this together did a wonderful job and worth going to in Gettysburg. I didn’t take any pictures inside the cyclorama, but these were taken in the smaller portion of it scaled down after the tour was over. I can say it was spectacular.

We heard so much about this, we skipped the film so we could go straight to the cyclorama (didn't have much time). The extra price we paid was still worth it, but I wish we had realized that the cyclorama was also a presentation (narration, lights, and sounds effects) whose timing was based on the film. We arrived at the tail end, so we missed most of the presentation and didn't get to linger long afterwards (as they clear out the room for the next group). But the painting was so incredible (about 350 feet of canvas), it was all worth it!

Hadn't seen this since I was a child. Huge difference!! It's so much more realistic than it used to be, with all the extra props between us and the painting. Seamless design between the ground that was added and the painting. Highlighting with different colored lights helped follow the narration easier. Thanks to a friend we had tickets given to us so I'm not even sure of the cost. Great artwork and wish we'd have been given more time just to absorb it all.

Fantastic facility and historical tool, but first, a few things I would recommend considering if you are bringing young children OR if you yourself are easily overstimulated:

I might not recommend it to parents of children younger than about fourth or fifth grade as it can be a very scary and loud experience for obvious reasons and at such a young age, they might not be able yet to understand and appreciate its historical value, especially if they simply become overwhelmed with the experience and close down.

Keep in mind that the goal of the cyclorama is to make you feel like you are in the position of a soldier in the midst of a great war!

On a similar note, beware if you are an anxious or easily startled person! I highly recommend the experience to any and every adult BUT I highly suggest mentally preparing yourself beforehand if you are anything like me! I am in my 20s and while I greatly appreciated the historic value and was very moved by it all, I was on the cusp of a panic attack the entire time and I would rather not break down crying or hyperventilate in front of children or really anyone at all. 😅

Otherwise a very immersive, technologically advanced tool for history lovers and those who would like to learn more about the Civil War and Pennsylvania history! By the time you are done with your visit, you really get the sense of just how much of a turning point this location and its battles...

This was a disappointing experience. The staff was rude(two of them). They do not allow you to really see the actual painting but for a brief moment. And when you are there they have all this distracting lighting that hides the painting and makes it difficult to see any of the details of the painting. In a painting such as this you really need to look at it for a couple of hours to fully grasp all the many hundreds or so events and individual stories in the painting.

If you are an art lover this is not a great place. Apparently the curator does not understand art or how the artist intended for his work to be displayed.

Shame because I have looked forward to seeing this thing in person for over 30 years, and now that I finally get to see it they have essentially covered up the masterpiece with all these stupid digital overlays. This is how good art...
