⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Epic Views & Deep History – A Must-See at Gettysburg! The Oak Ridge Observation Tower is hands-down one of the coolest spots in the entire Gettysburg battlefield. Climbing to the top gives you a 360° view that’s absolutely breathtaking—rolling hills, historic landmarks, and the layout of the battle right in front of you. It’s one thing to read about the Battle of Gettysburg, but seeing the terrain from this height brings it all to life. You really get a sense of how the strategy played out. Plus, it’s super peaceful up there—a great spot to reflect and take it all in. The tower is well maintained, easy to find, and not too crowded. Whether you’re a history nerd or just love a good view, this is a must-visit. Bonus: the climb is short, and the payoff is huge! 🏞️🇺🇸📸

The shortest of the 3 observation towers on the Gettysburg Battlefield, the Oak Ridge observation tower was erected by the Gettysburg Battlefield Commission and was completed in 1896. It once was as large as the others but was torn down to its current state in the 1960’s. The platform still offers a nice view of the area where fighting took place on July 1st 1863.

Another great spot to stop. You can see forever and really see how large this area is. Beautiful spot for a sunset or sunrise too. I wish we could have stayed longer.

I love getting up high for a better view, and this spot definitely delivers. Looking WNW, you get a vantage point of the Union soldier in July 1863 as the southern army was advancing. While I was up there, sun rays broke through the clouds and reached down to the battlefield. ...
