A simple yet poignant memorial to the many soldiers from Georgia that perished in the battle or afterwards from their wounds. It is apparently made of granite from Stone Mountain, home to the relief of Lee, Jackson, and Davis outside of Atlanta. It is along Confederate Avenue with the other memorials, and as such is worth a stop, cheers.

Dedicated on September 21, 1961, this monument is located near where Semmes' Georgia Brigade launched its attack on July 2nd. Georgia had 13,185 men at Gettysburg, the 3rd highest among Confederate supplied and suffered 3771 to casualties.

Georgia is our home state, so we sought out the monument on our visit. We didn't make it up the nearby tower because a bus of kids had just stopped by, and I didn't think my anxiety could handle those stairs with that many kids around.
