It is a great little course for beginner golfers. Nice area. However, if city of Cupertino decides to close it because of the costs, they should consider turning it into a full scale golf range (300 yards) with putting green, chipping green, and perhaps rent out space for a casual restaurant to hang out at. I'd bet money that a full scale golf range would get utilized way more than the current golf course and would be more profitable. There is plenty of land to put a full scale golf range and there still would be most of the land to turn the rest into park space or something else. Much better utilization of the land in my opinion.
Or make a full scale golf range on the plot of land in McClellan Ranch Preserve across the street from Deep Cliff golf course. There is plenty of land across the street on McClellan in the McClellan Ranch Preserve. Then whatever the land was used in the McClellan Ranch Preserve move it to the Blackberry Golf Course plot of land.
There really is not any golf ranges in the area that are very close and convenient. Also, you could have a warm up session on the range here and then go play at Deep Cliff golf course. Residents would use a full scale golf range...
Read moreShort par 29. You can get through the whole thing in an hour. Great for learners or a quick 9 after work. prices are reasonable at ~22.00$. Zero hazards and open fairways make it difficult to lose a ball even for the most errant golfer. -few sand traps and relatively flat greens. staff is accommodating and course is reasonably well maintained. club house is an 8/10. Loosing points for having zero domestic beer on tap (really! no bud/coors/miller) and having a smaller bar area, around 8 bar stools, no backs on stools either. Somewhat limited beer selection. Over weight on IPA, But good staff, good Friday prime rib, and good vibes. easy access and another good bar right down the street.
Ironic point - the only place that doesn't get watered is the bottom of the dry pond. What was once a hazard is now a very playable shot.
I hope this write up...
Read moreBlackberry Farm is a small 9 hole course with mostly par-3s and par-4s. There is a small pro shop and a restaurant (with great happy hour) on site. The "driving range" is basically a net and not very impressive. Nonetheless, the course itself is very friendly to beginners / amateurs and it seems that the people who play here are patient.
Hubs and I have been here several times and it's never crowded. We also never felt rushed throughout the course. The course is pretty small so you can definitely walk it with your bag (they also have push carts for rentals).
The grounds are decent, but you will see plenty of divots. To make up for that, the fee to play for non-residence is only $21 per round. I believe there is an additional $3 discount for your 2nd round.
I'd recommend this course if you're looking in the area for something low key to practice...
