If you’re in Cupertino and craving authentic seafood, this hidden gem is absolutely worth a visit. The quality and freshness of the food truly stand out. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and clearly prepared with great attention to detail.
We started with their famous clam chowder, and it lived up to the hype—rich, creamy, and full of tender clams. It was the perfect comfort dish to begin our meal. Next, we ordered the grilled fish, which was perfectly cooked with a beautiful char on the outside while remaining moist and flaky inside. It was seasoned just right and served with a light garnish that complemented it without overpowering the natural flavor of the fish.
The highlight, however, might have been the seafood pasta. Generously loaded with shrimp, scallops, and calamari, the pasta was tossed in a savory sauce that brought all the flavors together. The garlic bread on the side was warm, buttery, and crisp, making it the perfect accompaniment.
While the food was exceptional, the ambiance could use some improvement. The space feels a bit dated and could benefit from a more modern or coastal-inspired refresh to better reflect the quality of the cuisine. That said, the service was friendly and prompt, and the focus clearly remains on delivering great food—which they do exceptionally well.
Overall, if you’re in or around the Cupertino area and want to enjoy some truly delicious and fresh seafood, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. The flavors, portions, and quality make it a standout, even if the interior isn’t fancy. For seafood lovers looking for a satisfying and authentic experience, this...
Read moreI've been looking for a go-to fish & chips restaurant for a while now and finally found it! The table service here was great. The server was very friendly and acommodating and would frequently check up on my wife and I to see how our meal was or if we needed anything else.
There is a happy hour menu from three to five that includes discounted fish, fresh oysters, and other appetizers. There was also a lunch special and a daily special, both for very reasonable prices. My favorite item on the menu is Oysters Rockefeller which I highly recommend. They are served six for twelve dollars which is surprisingly cheap.
If that's not your bag, they also have clam chowder bowls and the standard fish & chips, which to my surprise didn't get soggy as most fried fish usually does after a few minutes.
There was also a mounted tv playing ESPN if you decide to dine alone and want some entertainment. It's in a good location (just off of the 85/280 intersection) and also not far from De Anza Community College which is great if you feel like trying something off campus between classes.
Needless to say, wonderful experience,...
Read moreThe City Fish is a really popular small place (6-8 booths and a long table down the center of the restaurant), and it is always packed. And there are even take out orders being picked up at the same times we have been there. The waiters are always very helpful with the menu and any substitutions that we ask to be made. There is a group of 5 friends (neighbors) go here and usually always get the same things....always starting off with clam chowder (1 big container we share amongst the 5 of us and then my husband and I always order a large container to take to our home....besides the clam chowder, the fried prawns are a big favorite and almost all of us order them in one form or another (w/scallops, mussels, etc). and the dinner comes with 2 sides (my husband always asks for the sliced cherry tomatoes in herbs/oil). The lobster roll is also a winner !! I have had it and think that it is so much better than Sam's in Half Moon Bay. I have never heard a complaint about anything ordered here and the five of us keep coming back. Now that the restaurant is opened again, it will be fun for the 5 of us to get...
