Yummee Sandwiches — Restaurant in Cupertino

Not sure how this place is rated 4.8. We stopped by for lunch today (on a Saturday). I ordered 2 banh mis and a grilled pork rice plate online a few minutes before arriving. We expected a wait despite the place being empty. The woman making our food was veeeery slow and we waited for about 15 mins. Everything was put in the microwave and it didn’t seem fresh at all. The labelling must’ve been wrong on our sandwiches too because the supposed grilled chicken banh mi had the same meat as our grilled pork plate. Btw nothing was grilled. The grilled pork plate was a little spicy and all the meats in the banh mis and plate seemed just boiled and then microwaved.

Banh mis were also bland and the bread seemed a little stale.

We love banh mi and were totally disappointed...

Stopped by to pick up a few sandwiches since I’ve been craving banh mi. Staff was kind and welcoming and the inside was well kept and clean. Ordered the BBQ pork with everything and added a fried egg since that’s my go to. Bread was perfectly crunchy but not too hard that it hurts like mouth like some other places, and the flavors of the pickled vegetables and the pork were amazing! Been waiting for this location to open forever. Went the other day. One of my pork sandwiches had a pretty large bone in it, which was pretty disappointing since that's never happened at the location on Hamilton. I didn't get to mention it since I brought the food back home for work meetings. Hopefully that's just a soft opening problem. Also FYI they do not have drinks or other items yet,...
