Its a simple choice really. Do you really need to go to the big name salon/barber, or would you prefer someone with years of exp. behind them and quite reasonable rates? With A Plus you get the best a both worlds, years of exp. (Amy, the owner, has at least 20 years behind her) and reasonably affordable rates; though I usually do my best, when able, to leave a healthy tip.
My opinion on this place may be slightly biased as I have been a repeat customer for at least 3 years now. In many ways, I think it is due to my being a repeat customer I get "VIP" treatment, or at least it feels that way. But I believe this holds true with most any small business. Once recognized as a regular/repeat client/customer, extra's come with it.
Here are a few tips to help get you near immediate VIP treatment. Btw, these tips can be used with most any business: Be expressive in a polite manner on your wants/needs Try to stir up some light conversation After the fact, when tipping is allowed, if the rates are quite reasonable, then tip very well. A big tip will aid in them remembering you and show's how thankful you are. As a bonus, big tips will usually make your future experiences even better then the last. If you can't afford a big tip, then let the person know you wish you could tip more, but the tip you are giving is all you can spare. When visiting a smaller business, if you are unsatisfied with the level of service, express it in a polite manner to the owner.
To summarize, I can tell you from first hand experience, this is by far the best hair salon I have visited in the US that actually exceeds my...
Read morethe asian guy who cut my hair was very disappointing. I came in and was checking out the place. Two ladies greeted me and ask me if I want a haircut. I asked them if anybody knows how to cut an undercut haircut. Two ladies recommended me this asian guy who just came from the back. The asian guy was very confident he can do it since he's being doing this for 20 years that was he said. I sit down and told the guy specifically what I want and show him pictures and videos of my cut that I want. Also, I told him almost 5 times that don't wet my hair cause it will curl back. He didn't do exactly what I told him. He told me they do differently here. Who gives a damn if he do the style differently I want exactly what I show him. He also wet my hair after I told him a thousand times not to. I told him he needs to straight my hair with an iron cause I can't go out with a curly coarse hair! He told me I have to pay extra! This guy is so stupid that he can't understand instructions and I never been to a salon where they ask a customer to pay extra because of the stylist mistake! ugh! I told him to give me the damn hair iron and I'll do it myself. He gave it to me and told me not to break it or else I'll pay for it. What the hell is wrong with this salon! I left pissed off and had a bad customer service! Also, I went home and sister told me my back line is so uneven! I would rate this place .5 for the effort of greeting me at first! NEVER AGAIN!...
Read moreI'm a teenager, and I'm sure you understand how picky we can be. Coming home from college, I really had no money to get a haircut. However, upon stumbling across 15 hair salons, A plus salon was the one for me. No one can beat their great service and cheap price! I usually have Minh cut my hair, and he really took the time out to cut my damaged hair off and thoroughly nourished it. I truly recommend this place. Only con is that they're hidden and the place is small. Other than that, it's great overall! Trust me when I tell you that Minh is the person for women's haircut.😍 (I can't...
