I have been a member of FWBC for over 11 years after moving to the Dallas area. Over the years, while I have not always tithed as consistently as I would have liked, my mom has been tithing to this church for more than 11 years if I'm not mistaken. We have never asked for assistance in all our time here, but when I recently lost my job and found myself unable to pay rent, I humbly reached out for help for the first time.
Unfortunately, the response I received was not what I expected from a place that teaches about compassion, community, and support in times of hardship. I was told that due to recent funding cuts and the amount of help I needed, they could not assist and was instead referred to a county welfare line. While I understand the reality of limited resources, the response felt very cold and impersonal, especially from a church I have trusted and supported for so many years.
It breaks my heart to say this, but I truly believed that the church was a place where members could turn to in times of true need. I am sharing this not out of bitterness, but out of hurt and disappointment. I pray that in the future, FWBC can find a way to balance the financial challenges they face with the genuine needs of their congregation, especially those who have walked with them...
Read moreI listened to a portion of the sermon on November 10 and couldn't bring myself to keep listening after the pastor poorly presented Scripture to the congregation he's accountable for leading in biblical truth. He read a passage that he stated was in the "Freddie Haynes" translation, which is himself. While I don't see anything wrong with paraphrasing or summarizing Scripture so long as it doesn't alter the meaning of the text, that was not what he did. He stood before the congregation and mocked the recently elected leader while attempting to condemn the very same ungodly character traits in that leader. Very hypocritical. This was the example he set publicly before the people he's responsible to God for leading in Biblical truth. After visiting the website to learn more about the church, it quickly became clear that this is more of a political action committee than a congregation. I hope that the Lord captures this man's heart and that he doesn't lead brothers and sisters in Christ astray by preaching a gospel other than that which the Lord, Jesus Christ, laid before us....
Read moreThis beautiful building full of beautiful believers; unfortunately is a huge fraud. After the BLM originator was charged with buying 4 multi million dollar homes; this church still has their massive banner representing deceit and theft from innocent civilians who donated their hard earned money to that fraudulent movement BLM. If you are unaware of ANY OF THIS i urge you to please research it bc the media and social media have already spoke on it and shut it down after a short time slot spot on the media. Remember who you are and what you represent everyone! It's a spiritual relationship; not a fraudulent church backing a fraudulent group on all of the working class citizens. Embarrassed for them to have that banner up. Just reflects their ways too bc we all know the accounts payable/pastor/ any other prestigious job within the. Churc knows this...
