A very pretty park with a clever water feature. The park was hosting an art fair today with a couple of food trucks lined up along the street. A DJ playing electronic dance music rather loudly.
It was a fun time until I spotted the "Lynching" historical marker. Much like finding a stolpersteine in Europe, this is a jarring reminder of when things were decidedly not civil in the United States. And it's good that it's here so that we can't backslide or deny that it happened.

Read morePegasus Plaza in Downtown Dallas looks as if it would be a nice sitting area, however, it is dirty and rancid. The smell of even being near it is almost unbearable.
I would have liked to have explored the plaza in more detail, yet it did not feel like a safe place to be at.
If you're nearby, you could still consider checking it out, because it does look neat, just heed caution...
