I was indecisive of where to park when checking out this lake (basically three options exist, though primarily it's this one which has an art deco era kayak storage unit not available to the public and covering for picnics in addition to neat water utility buildings to check out, or alternatively you can park on the opposite side of the lake where a 'Bath House' has been converted into a cultural museum which I didn't check out. I did stop by the third area which is north of this one and is just general parking adjacent to the trail for biking or jogging, with nothing unique other than the ubiquitous piers that seem to exist on all areas to park at.

Since I didn't want to get wet by staying long (it was drizzly) I did intend on either sitting at the picnic area under the rain, or using my bike (even though I intended to bring cycling gear, the way I was dressed was not suited for this occasion either.) It's a 10 mile area circling the lake and an ideal spot to check out for the peculiar features of the landscape.

I was also reminded to stop here as result of the ghost legend referred to as the 'Lady of White rock Lake,' whom would have died around the time many of the buildings and features of the landscape were constructed (1930's.) Even in spite of noticing the age of the structures it's well kept and has modern updates, such as the roads being modern and the trail being...

The Parkways have been re-striped; however, there is one variable that needs to be improved upon.

It is patently obvious there has always got to be 1 bicyclist that takes over the Bridge screaming and peddling like a mad man. The bikes are dangerous and hopefully nobody gets hurt but the way the maniac swerved thru the young families and children was mostly unacceptable.

He did scream and shriek loudly to warn everyone but his voice pierced the lovely afternoon.

If you're on the bridge with the turtles and ducks keep one eye towards the end of the bridges because sometimes not all the bicycle riders are courteous.

The giant turtle and catfish were out.

Amazing creatures.

Some of the turtles here have got to be upwards of...

You know, you can walk around your neighborhood every day for exercise but with little change of scentery. Or you can head out to White Rock Lake's T.P. Hill and walk pass dozens of vistas and hills to climb. It gives you a real apprecation for the beauty of the outdoors. There are places for the children to play (Heck, just running up and down the hills is a lot of fun. Running down to where the harbor just off the lake provides that "water feature look" you wish you could see out your back door.

There are lots of other areas around White Rock Lake so that you could make the lake your go to...

T&P Hill is one of the highest points of land around White Rock Lake. The children's playground, benches, picnic tables, boat ramps, bike trails, walking trails, plus glorious trees, plants, birds, water fowl, squirrels, etc. make this park one of the MOST family-friendly outings. Breathtaking views of sunrises, sunsets, sailboats, and the surrounding nature will take your breath away! Click the pic for full view & more details😉
