So, we read the reviews...and went anyway it's the closest winery to us and often people say things that aren't true today. We wasnt welcomed either, we stood around looking at the beautiful surroundings, waterfountains, brick stove it's a very nice place. But in that we wasnt bothered, like we had free reign to explore before we decided to eat a meal, try the wine... met both the lady and gentleman, the gentalman was definitely more in tune with visitors, but after seeing we were there to enjoy the place not critic it, the woman engaged with us more and welcomed us back when we paid. We had the ruben and philly, both really good, we tasted all the wine, raspberry, blueberry, orange, peach, red, white, most were very flavorful tasted as they should, my favorite is the sweet blueberry yum! The cat was very friendly, came to say hi, even ate with us on the table and chair, I suggest anyone with animal problems state so prior to service, we on the other hand enjoyed it and took us to a feeling of being in nature the cat seemed to enjoy us as well.
I gave 5stars, my reasons was my food was hot and good and came out in a very timely manner, the wine was good, even the ones I dont favor had very distinctive flavors and not horrible, the service even though we wasnt welcomed, we wasnt treated bad either. And the scenery beautiful.
I will return.
My only left wanting would also be a more welcomed statement atleast. Something like...
"Hello welcome, there is a wine and meal list on the bar, let me know if I can help you with anything" Would really go a long way.
But then again, if you cant truly enjoy this gem, then hush! people like me did enjoy it, and maybe people like you got the reaction you received. This isnt a fast food establishment, it's a private winery/bistro owned by 2 obviously hard working craftsmen and craftswomen we enjoyed their hard labor. And their...
Read moreI wish I could leave 0 stars. My boyfriend and I live in Davenport area and wanted to try this place for a while.I brought my parents that are visiting from PR to try this place as we like to support local businesses. The lady(we thought the owner)that walked out of the kitchen after several minutes of us looking at the establishment was incredibly rude. She didn’t introduce herself but even though we were the only ones there for lunch time she clearly didn’t want us there. She said to us “can I help you?” looking up and down on us and made everyone uncomfortable. My boyfriend asked about the menu and she said the restaurant wasn’t open until October. We explained we saw it on the google maps and she said only the bar was open but didn’t even recommend anything or asked if we wanted to sit. I translated for my parents and she was giving us dirty looks and even my (white) boyfriend said she was being racist and rude. We decided to go elsewhere and support another local business just minutes away. Do not go to this place. There’s nice wineries in central Florida and Clermont has a great winery that is a million times better. It was a huge disappointment and honestly offensive the way she treated us. I will definitely not...
Read moreI wasn't all that thrilled with this "winery". It is basically a hometown bar that makes their own wine. I came in with my husband on a Friday evening close 5pm and they were setting up for a country western band to play. Their sampler, wine tasting option, was a joke. They offered 9 separate wines, three of their own and 6 wines from Illinois. If your plan is to get drunk, this is the place for you. If you like wine and enjoy the slow process of tasting and evaluating wines, don't bother. They brought the wines on a board with 9 labels in tiny plastic 'jello shot' cups. There was no room to swirl or smell them and there was barely enough to taste them. Not to mention there was nothing provided to eat or drink between varieties to clean the palate. The wines were in a trough with ice in it and the wine that customers were buying by the glass came from a Coleman cooler on the floor. This cost me $10 and came with a souvenir wine glass. As a bar/restaurant this seems like a quaint little local place to get together on the weekends and drink... but I've actually never tried their food, so I can't be sure. All in all, I was...
