Taps & Corks — Restaurant in Davenport

We have dined here a total of 4 times. The first time was great! The 2nd, 3rd and 4th absolutely TERRIBLE we will not be back after last night. It was the most terrible service we have ever received. Each time there has only been about 3-4 tables so why is it taking bar drinks 15 minutes to hit the table? If you’re hungry don’t worry, the food is decent but you’ll be waiting about 45 minutes to get it. I had to ask for condiments multiple times, the last time I asked the server had the nastiest attitude and said “I know you need mayo” um ok so why haven’t you brought it the first 3 times I’ve asked and then have a attitude about it? Margarita was terrible I expected it to be the best Margarita I’ve ever had for as long as it took but it tasted like water so I sent it back and she did not even offer me another beverage so I ate my food without a drink because she wouldn’t come over so I could have the chance to ask for something else to drink. We also asked for a football game to be put on the TV because the Simpsons were playing and in my opinion if you’re going to a bar restaurant on football Sunday, I feel like football should be playing instead of The Simpsons. We asked her to at least get the volume turned off as it was so loud we couldn’t even hear our own conversations— that took another 15 minutes. Moral of the story I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re ok with slow, terrible service in a mold...

Was on my way home to do some shopping for my son. Taking him out to go coat shopping. Along the way, I knew I had a few minutes to spare, and stumbled upon taps and corks. I stopped inside sat at the bar, quietly snuck in on Travis while he was attending two guests that had walked in previous to myself. He greeted me with a warm. Wow! You snuck in on me, I proceeded to order a Maker's Mark old fashion with extra bitters. He asked if orange bitters was okay and being my favorite for a traditional old fashioned. I obliged. Travis made small talk throughout the visit, proceeding to encourage my exploration of the venue, and to my surprise, I was realizing how expansive it actually is. There's a perfect area on the back overlooking a beautiful small body of water, lounge chairs and a cozy atmosphere providing plenty of games such as beer pong, pool tables, dart boards, etc. And the bar is huge. Plenty of places to feel nice and comfortable in this place. Thank you so much Travis for making me feel so welcome. Thank you for your wonderful attention to detail and service standard. I will be coming back as a local watering hole guest!...

This one had me torn. Place is very unique, great decor but with one major flaw. My wife went to order the Filet, and to our surprise it did not include any sides, we questioned it with the server and she seemed confused at best, I asked to speak with a manager and he seemed disinterested and said that is the way the owner did the menu and that was the end of the discussion. She ended up getting a flat bread, I got the classic burger. I was not shocked when the food came and there were no fries or anything with it. I have never been to a restaurant and ordered a burger and it came alone with nothing. It was delicious by the way. Just a weird flex that the main courses do not include sides and you have to order fries with your burger as a paid side.
