Pendleton Overlook — Attraction in Davis

This is the point right across the Blackwater Canyon from Blackwater State Park Lodge Cabins!

We came here for sunset time on 10/19/2021.

Since we came quite early in the afternoon, we took a hike thru Pendleton Trace to Pendleton Lake and into the woods on Dubbin House Trail for a couple of miles.

Pendleton Lake is very peaceful and beautiful. So after hiking we just sat on the bench by the lake to appreciate the beauty and serenity.

But all the sudden we heard roaring loud noises up from the sky, To our surprises, there were fighter jets flying right above our heads. Haha, we’d got a free air show for our entertainment. 😂

Later we came back to this overlook to wait for sunset. Sunset was splendid but not as breathtaking as I expected. But the canyon view from the overlook is beautiful anyway. Better yet, we saw an almost full moon rising from the East while sun was setting down the west, which was an extra value...

This is a lovely overlook with a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains, river, and waterfall—especially stunning in the fall. There’s plenty of parking, and if you’re lucky enough to have the place to yourself, you can really soak in the peaceful sounds of nature. The waterfall is clearly audible and adds a magical touch, especially in the early morning if you're camping nearby.

It’s also conveniently close to the lake, making it a perfect stop before or after a visit there. While there are no picnic tables, there are several chairs available and plenty of grassy areas where you can easily set up a picnic.

Access is easy—vehicles can go all the way to the parking area, and the walk to the overlook is minimal, under a minute. No real hike is required. Overall, it's a beautiful and peaceful spot...

We had our wedding at Pendleton Point and everything went so smoothly. The team was super communicative from the planning stage to the day of the event.

The team that came and dropped off the chairs the morning of our wedding was the BEST. They helped us set up all of the chairs for the event, and while we were leveling the arch you can see if these pictures we were trying to figure out the best way to do that. They overheard this, went to the shed, grabbed a circular saw and a brand new 2x6 and a 2x4 and cut it down to help us. They did not have to do any of that, but they did anyway.
