Glass House — Attraction in Decatur

This'll be a long one! I've been a customer of The Glass House for about 4 years. Not a regular by any means (probably go about 6 times/year), but they sure do treat me as if i were there every week! I'm a glass artist, so most of my experience at The Glass House is buying glass sheets, supplies, etc. But I will say their retail selection of gifts and completed glass panels & suncatchers is outstanding too!

Steve & his team are incredibly kind, helpful & knowledgeable, whether it be giving advice on how to complete a project, ordering something that isn't available in the store, or identifying and matching a specific piece of glass, or giving a welcome opinion on color selection.

Their parking lot sale is always blocked off on my calendar. What a great deal on a huge selection of glass! But their prices are reasonable year-round.

Here's an example of their outstanding customer service: I attended their spring parking lot sale and brought my cousin (he lives 3+ hours away and has never been to the store). My cousin purchased many pieces of glass for a project we're working on. So much that we didn't realize we left without taking everything! Weeks go by, and I went in to order some supplies, still oblivious to having left some glass behind. Had a wonderful interaction as always, and left. A half hour later, Steve calls me and asks if I was at the sale. Then he asks if I was with someone by the name of Chris. Then he tells me we left some glass there. We had no idea we were missing it, they didn't know my name, but they recognized my face and somehow realized I may have been with Chris and could get in touch with them. Ended up verifying our purchase and I was able to get our missing glass.

They have a wonderful selection of glass and often have a decent selection of “sale” glass. Every time I walk in, they’re incredibly helpful and friendly. I’m new to stained glass, so any time I have a question, each employee I speak with takes the time to listen and offer advice. I truly enjoy going there and feel welcomed every time.

This is truly a hidden gem for gifts. They have excellent, unique gifts if you’re looking for something special to gift to someone - or yourself! We walked out with a beautiful set of wind chimes and I know I’ll be back around Christmas time. Absolutely...

The Glass House has a wonderful selection of gifts and glass. Prior to Covid they taught classes. I have taken stained glass, lead glass, mosaics, and fusing classes. They were all amazing and I was able to purchase materials at the Glass House to make more items at my home. Not only is the staff friendly but very knowledgeable.
