Very nice place. Very clean. Park provides boxes with plastic bags along the fences for poop disposal. Trash cans are provided at the entrance/ exit to each of the dog run areas. There are good quality benches to sit on as well as a few tables. Will be very nice when trees mature. I'm only giving 4 stars due to lighting after dark. I do not know any of the city's thinking or arguments for or against having the park. The type and style of lighting chosen may be very well explained in those debates however I found the lighting to be grossly inadequate for a city park. The pathway lighting does get brighter as you approach but I feel it's just not enough. The LED string lights give the different dog run areas some nice ambiance but in effect are useless. I have similar thoughts for the parking area. Maybe there's other plans, I don't know. I grew up in Chicago and to me the park after dark had a feeling of a bad part of town where creeps and drug dealers hang out. I don't think many people would feel safe there after dark. I feel if the city isn't going to put up the funds and install lighting for a good well lit area for residents to enjoy then should probably just close it at dusk. Just personal observations and thoughts. I think the city might be asking for trouble during the nicer weather months in the evenings there as far as possible...

Wow this is a SUPER DUPER nice GREEN grass park for the doggie kiddos. This was my first time there and l came in off Riley St and finally found it continuing beyond the recycle area. The road is rough & the city should invest in paving it but the park itself is beautiful & well kept. Update: after speaking w/ Keely Briggs City Council & mayoral candidate the council has plans to re pave in 2021. My only complaint is on our way walking to the areas ppl let there dogs poop & left it a lot of it. Ppl need to pick up but inside the gated areas it was very clean and well kept. Water is available for each pen but l bring my own bowls. They have 3 large pens ( one is closed for grass regrowth but its close to ready) and 1 smaller area pen for smaller dogs. Its escape proof so you can feel comfy letting your baby off leash. We'll be back on Sunday early afternoon playtime with our...

I mean, it’s ok. New. Nice. Barely any tree coverage for summer (like yeah they put in lots of trees but none in the actual fenced in areas). Also, good luck figuring out how to get in there. You have to turn on Riney from 77 and eventually there’s signs but it’s a disaster. We saw at least three people driving on the bike path or getting stuck at dead ends and we even walked a mile there from the main park because we couldn’t figure out where to park (made worse by all the street closures around there). Another also, the agility part? Is there supposed to be actual agility equipment there or just more open space? Not sure if they’re planning to add stuff but right now, it’s just lots of fenced in grassy areas. We will prob. be sticking Wiggly Park because this one just wasn’t as impressive as we...

We are new to the area and a co-worker suggested North Lakes Dog Park. We went on the night of the City Parks and Rec showing a movie and the unveiling of a park statue. The guests there were super nice, all the dogs were very energetic, they do have a water fountain for dogs, lights at night and benches for humans. I thought it was cool to see people sitting on their own blankets. Signs are visible of which park your pup should go to, but some humans didn’t respect it, and they may have had their reason. They do have string lights and light sabot looking lights entering and exiting the park. It is dusty with gravel so wear the right shoes. It’s worth driving 6 miles one way. We’ll be back and look forward to joking the VIPaw group as members.

We absolutely love North Lakes Park! It's always so well-maintained, with nice, well-lit paths. The park is an amazing space for the community, and for our Aussiedor, Max! He just loves those big play areas! There is plenty of convenient parking. The 1.5mi trail is great for a walk or jog, allowing us to enjoy the scenery and stay active. We can't recommend North Lakes Park enough. It’s a fantastic spot for anyone who wants to enjoy nature & let their furry friends socialize! Thanks to the Denton park staff for keeping it in such great shape!

I have visited this new Dog Park a couple of times now. Like someone else said the people are very friendly, with folks coming in from Krum and Sanger it serves to bring new people and their dogs together. I particularly appreciate the motion activated lighting, which during later summer hours will be a Godsend? The lights around each Pod is a nice touch also. However, someone did bring a rather aggressive bigger dog into the Little Dog Area that almost started a fight. That did have me concerned, but luckily no incident.
