Museum Of American History at Deptford, NJ — Attraction in Deptford Township

The museum itself is small, it’s not somewhere you will spend a whole day, but there are some neat artifacts on display and the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The man who greeted us upon entering immediately invited my five-year-old daughter to play with a box of dinosaur toys then got down on the floor to play with her teaching her the dinosaurs’ names and pointing out which ones had fossils on display in the upstairs exhibits. Another young woman took the time to connect with my daughter over her American Girl doll, telling her those books were part of why she studied history and then pointing out some of the exhibits that were from the times of some of the American Girls. After we left my daughter even asked to read more of the Molly books after learning about the WWII displays and how the items would’ve been used by Molly and her family. I was very pleased by that.
