Great place for a short hike with children or to fly a kite. Bring a picnic lunch and watch the edge of the field for deer walking by. I've been visiting here for years with my own children and now my grandchildren. Unfortunately, there are those people who do not clean up after their dog has gone to the bathroom. They leave it on the trails and in the field where the kids love to run around. Not the dogs fault, but they'll be the ones to suffer and not allowed to be there if enough people complain to the caretakers. Please clean up after your pets and respect the property. Read moreWe (3 adults) went on Labor Day 2022. While most businesses were closed, this awesome place was open and we were the only ones there so they were very attentive to us. The employees were very welcoming. Our tour guide was personable and very knowledgeable about the history and the area. His father had also worked at the site, so he has been there since he was 11 and he knew a lot! He answered all of our questions and let us take our time looking at everything. It's truly like being in any of his master works written during his Derry years. At various points on the farm, signs are posted with his poems, all located at points that echo the words. My favorite is as the wood trail separates into two "the road less taken" greets you to read and ponder. The snow was deep and snow shoes made the experience possible.
