What happened to this place!?! We ordered 3 meals…lobster roll plate, 3 way combo and chicken finger plate. The fries and onion rings are no longer made to order and sit under a heat lamp. There was no one ahead of me when I ordered and only one person waiting for their food yet it took almost 30 minutes to get our order and they gave us the fries and onion rings that had been sitting out that entire time, if not longer. They were ice cold and soggy. The cole slaw came in a small condiment container which amounts to one bite and it was spoiled, smelled sour as soon as the cover came off. The haddock in the combo plate was also spoiled. One bite and it was an immediate spit out. Only a few scallops and shrimp came in the combo plate but the batter is now so oddly sweet that it just wasn’t good. The lobster in the lobster roll is minced, only a very small scoop of it and had no taste, seems like it’s frozen lobster instead of the nice fresh chucks it used to be. The only redeeming thing were the chicken fingers. Over $80 for cold, soggy, spoiled food and very small portions. Never going back. This used to be the place to go for fresh fried...
Read moreDon’t even bother with Clam Haven with these new owners. They promised nothing would change but the moment Rick left the place went downhill. First they add on the fee for using a debit card. What company even does that anymore? And they posted saying you would get a “discount” paying in cash. No. You paid the actual price in cash, and more if you use a card. We reserved lobsters on Mother’s Day for their special, waited two hours in line, and then were told the lobsters were already sold out. What was the point of making a reservation two days ahead of time then? We gave it another shot today and the food was horrible. Clam Haven has always had the best onion rings, and today they were tiny and absolutely nothing like the onion rings we’ve always been able to expect from Clam Haven. The fries are disgusting. The portion sizes are noticeably smaller. I’ve grown up eating from Clam Haven and have always loved it. The new owners have absolutely ruined it. The customer service and food are terrible. It’s honestly no surprise considering Rig-A-Tony’s food is awful. Thanks for ruining a town icon restaurant. We miss Rick and the...
Read moreI haven’t been here in about 3 1/2 years and that last time I was here the food was amazing. My parents used to go to clam Haven all the time and raved about it. While I was there, I spoke to a gentleman who said it’s under new ownership and I can attest that the food reflects that. The batter tasted different and the scallops didn’t seem fresh. They were a bit grey on the inside not that white flesh look. Clam strips weren’t that good either but again I think that may have had to do with the batter. Just not a fan of their batter it’s a different than what I’m used to. Hopefully it’s just my taste buds and anyone else that it goes, enjoys it.The scallops didn’t have that sweet taste that they used to. It shouldn’t have changed the recipe in my opinion.Maybe it’s me, but I know that this experience was very different from the first one. I’m not saying the food was bad. I’m just saying different. And was not as enjoyable to me. I didn’t eat quite half of my meal. I just know that I would not order this seafood combo of scallops and clams again. Might...
