Campbell's Nutrition — Attraction in Des Moines

Love the idea of the place—husband and I recently moved down to DSM from Ames and we’re hoping for something similar to the co-op there—but this place is not that.

We like to buy from bulk bins to reduce plastic waste from packaging. We headed over to their island of bins and first bin my husband tried was for turmeric and ginger seasoned cashews. It was blocked up, so that didn’t work. Next, we headed over to the bins for dried fruit. It didn’t list nutritional info so we couldn’t see the amount of sugar added to the fruit. After this we headed over to the beans section of the bulk bins. My husband looked into the bin with the azuki beans and it was crawling with little tiny bugs.

We notified an associate and left. Going to try the other location, but so far, very disappointed and won’t be back to...

I’ve been shopping here off and on for 7 years (I moved out of the city). However, now I am back in DSM and decided to go here because they have high quality produce and the essential oil brand I enjoy. However, I look young (in my 30s) and I am brown, I was definitely profiled as someone who would steal while in the body care section. The woman with long dark hair and pale skin hovered around me like a bat. The older woman who checked me out, short brown hair and glasses, was not welcoming nor polite in checking me out. They definitely need to respect the customers more if they want to keep their jobs. Such a pity because there’s not a store like this in DSM and I want to continue to go… but not at the price of experiencing discrimination...

First of all, I expected the prices to be outrageous for the supplements I was looking for.....nothing could have been further from the truth. Even the few that were a little pricey were worth it just because of the incredible staff and how helpful and knowledgeable they were. The issues I was having were fairly severe, and they went right into action helping me get my health on track, and if there was something they didn't know (which was few and far between) they looked it up and made calls and did anything they had to do to figure it out for me and get me on the right course. I cant tell you how grateful I am that I knew about this store and that they are not too far from my home. Keep up the excellent...
