Everyone should go here. The history covered is the kind of history Des Moines and Iowa is deservedly proud of, but I've spent 9 years in Iowa and had no idea. They are only open from 10 to 4 on Saturdays. It's a well laid out exhibit and if it's quiet, you might get a free, in depth tour of the entire museum with a docent. It's also right next to the Fort Des Moines Correctional Facility so you get the added bonus of losing your search and seizure rights despite not being a criminal, and the area is crawling with prison parolees.
