My family and I really enjoyed our visit to Hunter Memorial Park in Douglasville, GA. It’s such a beautiful park with so much to offer! We especially loved walking our dog, and I think she might have loved it even more than we did! The trails are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a little jog, and the trash bag stations throughout the park make it easy for dog owners to clean up after their fur babies. Let’s all do our part and don’t litter the park (and our furry babies) deserve to be respected!
One of our favorite features was the lake with the water fountain and lights, so pretty and relaxing to watch. The park also has a gym area for those looking to stay active, and the kids’ playground includes a swing that appears inclusive for everyone, which is such a thoughtful touch. The park is maintained really well, and while there were a few small bits of trash left by careless visitors, it didn’t take away from our experience.
With playgrounds, picnic areas, open spaces, and areas for exercise, there’s something for everyone. We left feeling refreshed and happy, and my fur baby looked like she wanted to move in permanently, lol. Hunter Memorial Park is definitely a spot we’ll be visiting again and would recommend to anyone in Douglasville looking for a fun, peaceful, and family-friendly outdoor escape. My biggest ♥️ and most special observation was seeing men play catch (ball) with their sons, on a little patch of grass close enough to the playground but not so close as to have enough space to throw a ball back and forth! It was beautiful 😍 I only took one picture but next time, I...
Read moreThis is a pretty decent park for walking and free birthday party setups, but the playgrounds here are more accommodating to smaller children. They have recently constructed a newer "playground," though it lacks fluidity and feels more like an outdoor gym set.
The disc golf course is okay, but if you're already in the area, Deer Lick and (especially!!!) Boundary Waters is close enough to go there instead. The lake is kinda small, but it is cool how they setup a water spout in the middle.
Overall, I'd recommend this place if you happen to be making a rest stop and need to stretch your legs. It was clean, especially considering how many people gather here. Not a bad spot overall, but definitely a little less stellar than...
Read moreSmall children should be in the small children area so teens can play on the big kid area. They should have someone watching the big kids section. I was there with my kids 9 and 13 and there were a few older kids with some young girls like 18 or something with mini dresses climbing and showing younger kids stuff they should not be seeing in a kids park. I love the park hopefully the experience is better next time. Because no 9 year old should be seeing pretty much a lady undies in a kids park. They should go somewhere for adults or dress more appropriately knowing they will climb and there are younger kids...
