My husband and I wanted to have an overnight stay to celebrate our first anniversary. We usually go to the Northbrook location but they were booked up around that time. The Downers Grove location gave motel vibes when we pulled up. Fancy motel, but motel none the less. I prefer the hidden away setup Northbrook has, with each unit having its own driveway. The first thing I noticed when we got there was that the massage chair had a "drip" like stain on it. I called the front desk immediately to let them know and they said they would send someone over to clean it. They came fairly quickly but it meant we had to wait to fully settle in and get comfortable and when they arrived (yes, 2 men to clean 1 chair) it felt a little awkward. They weren't able to get the stain removed, and i watched him thoroughly scrub the seat, but needless to say we definitely weren't going to be using that chair. The pool at this location looks smaller and doesn't have have the attached hot tub as Northbrook, but they charge the same price. Northbrook's setup is extremely easy to use. We usually start by syncing up our phones for music and we can sign into our streaming services, like Netflix. This location made it so difficult. We couldn't figure out how to connect our music so we were left just trying to find the best radio station or playing it straight from our phones speakers. I called the frontdesk about streaming and the only option was them giving us an hdmi cable to connect our phone to the TV. They were nice enough to bring it to our room but that meant we had to make ourselves presentable for when then got there. The cable basically allows you to mirror into the TV but for some reason the phone wouldn't work within the distance that the cable gave; even on the wifi. Anywhere else we were able to stream in the phone but not within 2 feet of the tv. The bathroom had like a 6 inch gap under the door. So not only does it not feel completely private but, if you have to use the bathroom during the night, that light shines into the dark room. The room itself felt a little motelish, with the big metal door so close to the bed. With all lights off, and the room should be blacked out, I woke up in the morning to a glowing beam of day light that peered thru the peephole (this wasn't what woke me but I disrupted the vibe). Usually sybaris has me feeling separated from the world and completely relaxed, but not here. Overall, I guess it's still nice but compared to our experience at Northbrook, and that they're all the same price, we won't be returning to...
Read moreMy wife and I work very hard all year and dedicate most of our time working and with our children. We usually dont get much time to just get away and relax and spend time with one another. Our trips to Sybaris are our chance to wash away all our stress and rekindle our love and passion for one another. Sybaris is the perfect place to do just that. Sybaris is always clean and private. The rooms are like private apartments filled with various things to soak away your pain and stress of your everyday lives. We have stayed in several locations and Downers Grove is our favorite. There are various levels of rooms and we usually stay in the paradise suite. There is a king size bed with a jacuzzi beside it, and a glass wall with fireplace seperating the sleeping area from the pool and spa area. The heated pool is large, with a waterfall above and has hot tub attached which feels incredible. Then there is a steam room has shower jets on walls and ceiling and 2 chairs. There is a tv in the bedroom area and pool area which has cable however we dont watch much tv when were there. There is also a stereo with speakers in bedroom and pool area. The room has a bathroom and just outside it are his and hers sinks. A microwave and small fridge also are available to keep drinks etc cold and heat up food if you like. However, there are plenty of restaurants around to get fresh food if you choose to leave the room. There is also a massage chair and the lighting around bed and in the pool also make for a very relaxing setting. We love Sybaris and look forward to staying once a year. We are actually about 2 weeks away from our next stay and it is much needed. The staff is professional and you may also add special things to the room such as chocolates, rose petals scattered on the bed, and champagne. The office has various adult novelties to make for a more erotic and passionate experience. We usually stay on Fri thru Sunday afternoon. Id like to say it is enough but once you get a taste of Sybaris you wont want to leave. It is pricey for some but we dont spend much on each other throughout the year and we save up for the trip which is well worth what it costs. Outside of Sybaris there are various nearby outlet malls and places to shop and dine and we have a wonderful time, every time. We have been to Sybaris 5 times and have never had a bad experience. Its quiet and private and the perfect place to shut the world out and spend with the...
Read moreMy experience at The Sybaris in Downers Grove was a truly wonderful and memorable one. After going through so much in life and dealing with the challenges of the current times, The Sybaris provided me with a much-needed ray of light. The ambience of the place was simply amazing, with a high energy and an atmosphere filled with love. It was the perfect peaceful getaway that I needed. The luxurious amenities in the rooms was a bonus, adding to the overall experience. I enjoyed my stay so much that I ended up going twice in one week, with my only complaint being that I talked so much fell asleep and didn't get to use the hot tub the first time we came back and didn't use it again that's how much the getaway was needed so I guess I can have a tantrum and my mate will be sure we go again and next time, I'll make sure to indulge in the hot tub experience. The comfortable bed and intimate conversations with my partner made me realize the importance of treating ourselves to getaways like this. It allowed us to have some peace and privacy while reconnecting with each other. The Sybaris truly lives up to its reputation as an amazing place for a romantic getaway, and I can't wait to go back and experience it all over again. The staff were friendly and accommodating as usual, ensuring that our every need was taken care of. The attention to detail in the room decor and amenities was impressive, creating a luxurious and intimate atmosphere. Overall, my experience at The Sybaris was unforgettable, and I highly recommend it as a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic escape or just a getaway. I met those that make it happen behind the scenes and I got to take a few photos and thankful so the world gets to see how people go above and beyond to make things a lifetime memory for us and sometimes they're...
