The idea of throwing an unusual and unmanageable amount of fries into the bag was always an illusion of generosity at $5 or more. The way you were SUPPOSED to do it is charge little for the fries but charge big for the burger. The price has stayed the same for the fries, but now they put substantially less in the bag in a slightly smaller bag. The always just used to chuck a ton of fries into the bag like a mess and it was kind of marvelous. It’s sort of embarrassing the way they do it currently. Now it’s a normal amount of fries just poured in. I paid them way more than any other fast food restaurant to take a normal amount of fries and to just pour them in to make a mess, chucking the fries into the bag, and disregarding the fry container as just for show. I would never tolerate that from other restaurant. I wouldn’t spend 10 bucks, or 8 bucks, or even 5 bucks at McDonald’s to fill a fry container half way and dump it upside down into my bag. Just put them in my bag with care and neatness. I repeat, they shrunk the size of the bags to cover for the shrinkage! And also, the burgers are smaller. They’re probably a better size because they’re still filling. But now they’re $12 alone! They also push 12 oz milk shakes for $6 bucks to every customer. Another thing that becomes a problem when your prices are high, is how slow the service is. I waited for 20 minutes in this place for my food. It’s always been this way, but it’s not worth it. It’s probably a good thing that their daily customer stream is so weak. I don’t know what they’d do during an actual rush. Paying $22 per person, no shake, for a cholesterol-induced panic attack, a basket of unshelled peanuts to keep your fingers warm in the freezing cold, sterile and uninviting atmosphere with the obligatory overplayed classic rock ballads at a punchy volume, and decades old framed five guys reviews in obscure magazines, while waiting 20 min for your order with 1 or 2 other customers, it just doesn’t cut it. If I hear “shook me all night long” one more time, it will...
Read moreUPDATE: We went back to this location two weeks ago, to give it a second chance after their mess up last time (below review), there online hours, as well as the hours posted on their door, said they would be open till 9pm and we pulled in at 6:10pm and saw a solo employee dart into the back after seeing our head lights, he was in a darkened store. There was no signage reporting why they were closed so early and no holiday in weeks for a reason for them to be closed. We will never be going back to this location, especially if they can’t even be bothered to post why they clearly closed before 6pm on a day their door said they should have been opened till 9pm.
Original Review: We used their mobile order system, since we had our dog with us and didn’t want to leave him in the car, they didn’t start making it till we got there. We had already paid and made the order more than 10 minutes out. The food was still good, but having to wait behind several extra orders that should have come out after ours took another 20 minutes of waiting! This is fine when you are sitting in but when you make an order 15 minutes away and get there and have to wait another 20 minutes for your food it really sucks. I would say not to count on them reading their mobile orders. Watching from the window I saw a guy move several packs of hotdog buns to get to the printer for the mobile order machine. They were purposely ignoring it, or someone...
Read moreOk, Five guys is pretty consistant with the food they offer. Sometimes the order taker is a bit of a wise guy.... It depends on my mood if I find that entertaining or not. What I can't seem to understand is the pricing structure. I not only ordered the single cheeseburger, but the one they describe as the "Little Hamburger", small fries and a small shake. One person, the smallest of everything, $23.22!!! Take-out, fast food. As a widower with a pension, I can afford that. How does a working man or woman, with a family of say, 4 or 5 possible afford to spend close to $100 for one meal? I understand we all have choices and nobody is forced to eat there. I have chosen NOT to pad the bottom line of the Five Guys Corp. with anymore of my money. The...
