We came back here after 10 years. It is amazing how big the gardens are. I also forgot that it's a pretty long drive from Atlanta. So be prepared for entertaining your kids for the hour and a half drive to the gardens from Atlanta. For us, the birds of prey show was the best experience. The staff are really well trained and they provide really good education information for children and everyone else. The birds do fly really close to you when they're flying around during the demonstration. So if you're scared about having a hawk touch your head as it flies between different places this is not for you. Our son loved it. We went to the butterfly exhibit but I think during winter there must have fewer butterflies cuz there were hardly any there. I think we will check back in the summer or spring to see if they have more butterflies...

I do wear masks in public places as prescribed by individual business recommendations, but at times due to medical reasons need to remove my mask for a few minutes. Telling people that the health of the birds is the reason for them to force mask wearing or else leave the center has NO scientific basis at all. The workers are so nice they always look for help you with whatever you need . In the area you can also rent bikes (it’s around 25$ per day per adult) do the zip line and the other activities (they had a day pass for 40$ when I went so look for it ) if you stay with them you also receive 10$ off on those activities.
