New patients, find another option. Every aspect of my experience with this place was awful. I wasted so much time and money and never even got an annual physical like I wanted.
I called asking to schedule an annual physical as a new patient. The day before my visit, I received a voicemail informing me that my visit wasn’t my actual physical, but a new patient visit required before I could have my physical. The visit itself was less than satisfactory - I had to wait in line for 20 minutes just to check in, and was left waiting in the exam room for 30 minutes after my chat with the NP because the nurse forgot to come give me a flu shot.
I then received a bill much higher than expected, and after some research I believed my visit was coded incorrectly. I went back and forth with Duke’s billing department for 6 weeks while they awaited review from the coding department, receiving calls from them asking me to pay my bill in the meantime while it was under review. They told me to contact the NP who conducted the exam, who sent me back a snippy message saying it was coded correctly as an annual physical and that she couldn’t do anything about it. Mind you, I never even had my annual physical - this was a new patient visit that was to happen before the annual physical. One person at Duke Billing seemed helpful but never called me back or extended my billing deadline as she said she would. In every message and phone call I had, the people I talked to got billing code numbers mixed up or just flat out wrong. I constantly had to ask for updates because they would tell me to wait 5-7 business days and nothing would happen for two weeks.
I truly can’t believe how unprofessional, uninformed, and unwilling to help everyone was in this experience. Please do not go to this office if you don’t want to...
Read moreUnbelievable!!!! I took my two children here in spring 2013 for well checks. They were as healthy as can be, just needed a check up. A few hours after our visit, I got a call from Rite Aid, saying my sons prescription was ready-i told them we had no prescription to fill-they gave me his name and other identifying information, but it was not his medicine. I called Croasdaile, and they admitted they had made a mistake. Today-2 years later-I took my youngest to a new doctor, and just looked at his chart notes from the previous doctor from Croasdaile-it has my child documented as being prescribed a medication for treating herpes!!!!!! This is listed on a perfectly healthy CHILD'S medical records!!! They also listed my older son's allergy medication as being prescribed to the younger child! This is unacceptable, and I'm being told by my current doctor that this cannot be removed from his records. Just unacceptable. This same office has refused to return phone calls regarding obtaining records for transfer, and the office manger was extremely rude and obviously unorganized. Do not use this office-this place is run like a fast food joint-not a medical...
Read moreAlthough, I rarely get sick, I felt it was important to establish a relationship with a primary care dr. Scheduled an appointment for routine physical a year ago, became a patient of record and all went well. A year later, I became very sick. I called them to make an appointment. I was running a fever of 102.1 and called Monday morning to be seen. They had NO available appts with any providers, not even a PA. They told me to go to urgent care next door. Of course the copay is 3 times the amount. A few days later, I called them to be seen because I needed to change my antibiotic. Once again, they told me they were overbooked and did not have any appointments. They suggested Urgent Care once again. What is the point of having a "primary care" doctor if they cannot meet my acute medical needs? They use Duke Urgent care as their dumping ground when they are overbooked. Perhaps, they are short staffed, regardless it isn't an excuse to turn away a patient of record and quite frankly I'm not sticking around. I need a doctor that it going to be available for when I'm sick and need to be...
