SJ Computers, LLC — Attraction in Eagan

Have had nothing but problems with this place. Ordered a system (and this wasn't my first one) and I get a call from them saying they are having technical issues and need to verify my address. I do as such thinking no big deal. Well computer doesn't show up when it's supposed to so I look it up only to see that it's delayed due to an invalid address. I call them to bring this to their attention. They fix the address but then try to charge me a fee for fixing the address. They have successfully shipped to me in the past but because they are having technical issues, they somehow messed up the address but want to pass a fee along to me. I had to escalate up to get that waived.

Thought the trouble was over but when I finally get the package days later, they have shipped a completely different one. Get a Dell gaming machine instead of the HP one I ordered. Thought I would check it out anyway, maybe they shipped me a better one. But plug it in and turn it on and nothing. Machine doesn't work. Had to get a return label and send it back for a refund. Then had to email them to get them to actually give me the refund.

Now today, for one of the other machines I purchased just 5 months ago, it broke. I guess they will only warranty for 90 days which is a joke.

This company is absolutely horrible to work with. I love to support local business and when I first discovered them I was excited to have a place I could get used machines at a reasonable price, but the unprofessional and poor customer service of this place has caused me to move on. You really need to be careful about this place too. They sell through Amazon but it's hard to know it's coming from them. If I order another one from Amazon and it comes with their sticker on, it's going right back without me even...

I had seen so many iffy reviews, it took me a long time to finally break down and trust this purchase. But I was not at all disappointed in any aspect of the process. I was worried because I'd read people saying their products didn't match and weren't compatible but everything was uniform in my bundle. I got a great PC, with a very nice monitor and mouse that didnt give me any installation issues. The computer could have been new for all the wear and tear I didn't see. It shipped two days faster than the five days I expected. That was impressive. It came packaged smartly and it seemed like someone took time to make sure it was done right. I ordered the largest amount of RAM and storage and as far as I see I wasn't shorted which I kinda was worried about. The computer seemed refurbished well, it runs a tad slow for a dual processor of it's grade but the computer did work without any issues. The network adapter left a little to be desired, I'm having problems with connecting via some hotspots but I have been able to use it on others so I won't complain. Overall I'd definitely say I wasn't let down in the least, I use the computer for high density audio production and recording and so I use it maybe ten to twelve hours a day and so far it was well worth the $350 I spent on it, and the only thing I'd change is I'd probably have gotten a dual monitor! Absolutely recommend this company....

UPDATE: I had to open a request with eBay for a refund, detailed tracking shows that the computer was returned to the seller, the seller (SJ Computers) completely ignored my last eBay message regarding a refund so eBay had to step in and make things right.

This company has good reviews, however, my first experience doing business with SJ Computers has not been positive. I purchased a computer from them on eBay, after my purchase I checked the shipping and realized that my shipping address had not been changed after a recent move, I quickly contacted them and asked if they could contact FedEx to have the computer rerouted to my new address, they quickly replied that there was nothing they could do. I asked again and they said they contacted FedEx and was told that the address could not be changed because it was out for delivery, it was only out for delivery to a shipping hub and not my old address, the hub is in the US and I am in Canada. I contacted FedEx through chat and phone call and was told that they can make the change but it had to come from the seller and not me, I do not believe that Ryan even contacted FedEx, (not enough time between our communication) he just could not have been bothered.
