I like the library in general and had no issues until recently. There was something wrong with the check I made to the library for passport picture. They later called me to bring cash to pay. I went there for 3 times. The first time there was no one there; the second time i went there was a lady in front of me, i was there for almost 1 and half hour just to wait for the staff to finish her up. I couldn't wait anymore because I need to pick up my kids. The third time they called me again and I appeared at the library and try to pay them 10 mins after the phone call. I was telling the ladies over there regarding those unpleasant experience. One of the lady literally told me : If the staff needs 1 and half hour to finish the customer before you, then you need to wait 1 and half hour. So my point is here, first of all, don't talk to me like that, if I don't want to pay, I wouldn't even bother to come 3 times to the library; secondly do you think it is proper to talk to a customer like that? I am telling them that their staff is slow, what's the point of them to even find excuse? Because it...
Read moreI was raised in East Brunswick and have been a huge fan of the EBPL since our third grade class trip to get our library cards. I remember asking the Librarian if there was a limit to how many books I could take out and she told me, As many as you can carry! I took her very seriously and made sure I could carry all the books up to the Circulation Desk by myself.
When I moved away for a while, I missed having such a well stocked and well serviced library. The libraries in my new town were nowhere as good.
Now that I'm back in EB, it's sheer pleasure to visit the Library but to also use its online services like Libby.
I now have a two yr old and try to visit the library with him at few times a month. I want him growing up knowing the power of the public library, and it's amazing breadth of services and the helpful staff of librarians.
Thank you for...
Read moreNice library in the community. Plenty of activities for kids over the weekend. I just happened to visit the day they were having the Makers Day event, and it wasn't as quiet as you would expect from a library due to that event, although it didn't bother me at all. They have pick-up lockers right outside for grab & go. Inside there is a sitting area with three vending machines as well as an ATM. Inside they have a copier machine available for copy/print at a cost. Also, I saw USB charging lockers, which was the first time I ever saw this. So basically you can lock your USB device for charging, and come back later, without having to wait on the floor against the wall like you see at airports. Nice concept. The children's section was organized well, with lots of colors! Overall a place to have some quiet time studying...
