Lessons are good...my kid takes them. Sat afternoons are good time. All times but sat night are great. Saturday nights are a hot mess...can't skate, too crowded, horrible music to skate to, and full of tweens n teens taking selfies and generally being rude kids. I grew up skating here. Skip sat nights. Skate shop is awesome! They know their stuff. I'll always skate here and any skating need, go to this shop. Inexpensive also. They need to stop selling kids light up junk like flashing pacifiers cause they end up all over the rink. Maybe have an all adult night or no one under 13.something wo unaccompanied children fighting and cursing on sat nights. It looks just like it did around 1989 when I started coming here. As for "the old man" people complain about on reviews, get a grip parents. Hes teaching your rude, untrained kids some rules and societal norms. If you cant see the dry humor in him telling them to wait or stop or anything else he tells your rude kids w no home training, then go skate on a public sidewalk or stay at home. He's a nice guy who has been dealing w hoards of unsupervised, horrible kids for decades longer than you have been "parenting". Get a grip on yourselves w your judgements of how someone talked to your unsupervised, rude, delicate flower. Boo hoo. When owner wants to sell...
Read moreThis young man, like the rest of us, was a paying customer. He had purchased both entry and skate rental. There was absolutely no justification for the treatment he received—other than the fact that he is a young Black man. What made this even more painful was the clear contrast in how our white friend, who also had no skates and remained seated at our table, was completely ignored and never harassed by staff. The racial bias and discrimination from Sarah, the security guard, and other staff members were blatant. The overall environment was hostile, disrespectful, and unsafe. We ultimately made the decision to leave as a group, feeling dehumanized and unwelcome. To add further insult, the young man who had paid for entry and skate rentals was treated as if he were not a legitimate customer. The staff, including the girl at the skate rental window, were disrespectful when attempting to return our shoes, even citing minor issues like not “tucking” the laces into the skates. We were only at the facility for about an hour in total, but it was enough time to experience clear racial profiling, harassment, and unprofessional behavior by the staff. This is not the kind of experience any paying customer should...
Read moreThis place is beyond racist, I grew up in Texas (the country) Plano to be exact. I am far from racist and I love everyone. Idc who you are, after living in Texas for years my parents and I relocated to mechanicsburg and I attended Cumberland Valley, as well as Eagle View. I used to go to Olympic when I was younger and was blind to the fact that the owners and their children are very racist, it's blatantly obvious. The owners do not respect my kind (AA) which is fine but their children do not respect their elders at all and it's heart breaking to see. We (Me, My wife and children) went for 1 hour just to get out of the house and enjoy ourselves but was treated terrible. Almost the same things we did other people accidently did as well (falling) but the "white people" or Caucasian people never was spoken to. We received tension the entire time as if we did something wrong. I will never in my life spend my money there again and other people of my kind should not either. We as a culture need to come together and own more things that we like to do so we can enjoy ourselves without being hated...
