This is a very nice and well maintained park. there are a variety of dirt hiking trails and stone/clay trails. The trails do a nice job following the river and lake that winds through the park. Pros. nice long walking trials. We walked for about 4 miles exploring the whole park. The main/long loop is probably about 2 miles. There are a bunch of cool bridges that span the small valleys that the river runs at the bottom of. There is also a long floating bridge that goes across the pond that is cool. There is a good variety of scenery, dense woods, river, lake, waterfall, and there are some historical houses. It appeared that you could do some boating activities. Cons. The northwest part of the park has trails that are short, and if you kind of wonder you end up on private property. It could use some better signage. We went on a weekend in the winter so it wasn't super crowded, but I could see it getting very crowded in the summer. As a biker, I would not recommend this for biking. It is...

There is a park and playground for kids, a big dock for fishing, trails that go through the woods, picnic tables for lunch, a stream to kayak, and historical buildings to enjoy.
It's nothing that will blow you away, its quaint but the feeling of separateness for each section makes it less crowded in my opinion. Plus I can take my dog in the woods and on the trails away from the bulk of people.
There are multiple parking spots. One is right off of smithville rd. If you're coming from 38 it will be on your right. There is another if you go a block up and take a left. This is the historic side with the dock and...

An historic village with visitable and not-visitable buildings, large parking area for events, a ravine trail, sports fields, walking paths (wide enough for XCountry skiing and snowshoeing, plenty more trails in Smith's Woods and one trail, partial loop approximately 2.5 miles total walking (once you leave your car). The pond is an open expanse with floating docks and benches at multiple locations and a large floating dock crossing the length of the pond from Smithville Village to the Smith Woods trails. Take your dog, your kids (there is a playground with nice, clean and safe elements) a stroller (not fully accesible) and...
