Cool place, nice park for young kids to play at. Alot of nature and scenery to explore on the walking trail which goes around the whole park. Baseball games are a good time when they are playing. Can also fish in half moon pond but I wouldn't recommend eating or keeping anything you catch. That being said it's a nice pond with a beach at one end to hangout at in the warm weather. Ice skating in the winter. The park also features a football field home to local adult teams and high schools that play at different time throughout the football season. The Paul Bunyan logging museum is a cool place to check out if you're into history, also has an old schoolhouse and other historic items from around the area that are interesting to see and read about. Lastly there is the train and railroad tracks with a couple old buildings. The tracks give a decent tour when the train is running. With all that available and plenty of spots in the park to have a gathering of any size the park is one of the cities main sites of recreation and events. It's not a bad idea to plan a trip here around one of the sporting events or other events/festivals and gatherings that take place here during the year. It's also a great spot to go for a walk and not be bothered if you're more of a private...
Read moreGreat local park, big playground that has very recently been renovated. Enjoy some great views all along the banks of half moon lake, which wraps around the entire park, along with some fairly challenging cliff trails; be very careful on these trails, they are mostly sandstone and the dirt and fallen leaves become very slick after it rains. I also recommend that you check out the Paul Bunyan logging camp as well as the Chippewa Valley museum, there you can learn about the history of Eau Claire and the surrounding Chippewa Valley region. Oh and Last, but certainly not least, you can take a ride on the Chippewa Valley miniature railroad, weather permitting of course but it's awesome and well worth the cost...
Read moreIt is an excellent park with an excellent selection of things for your child and you to either do together or by yourselves only problem is the park was designed for children 4 to 11 years old so it's hard for new parents with younger children to find a good activity to do that's not dangerous for a 2 year old or 3 year old and the parents there don't seem to care that there kids are pushing and overall being mean to the younger kids but that's everywhere so 4 stars if it was for all ages 5 stars all day and don't forget to go for a walk excellent trails and a stream you can explore plus a base ball stadium right next to park you can also explore...
