SpringHill Suites Eau Claire — Hotel in Eau Claire

had to drop everything and catch an emergency flight out of AUS due to family emergency, I was literally planning my trip while on the go. I contacted the Mayo Clinic Travel Team and they recommended the Springhill Suites Eau Claire and what a great recommendation it was. The General Manager on site (Cassandra) has a heart of pure gold, I was in town because my mom had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 3 SCLC, I liquidated all that I owned to be here to support her and honestly, could not afford to stay at this hotel. Mom's treatment plan called for 29 days of stay, Cassandra and her staff was patient and kind with me and treated us no different than any other guest. On top of the discount that the Mayo Clinic Travel Team provided us due to for being a Mayo Cancer Patient, Springhill Suites Eau Claire also provided us with and additional discount in an attempt to bring the total price for a stay of 29 days affordable for my mom and I, but still out of reach. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel, which opened less than a month ago. The staff was excellent. However, there were some overall things to call out in the hotel itself.

Immediately, the climate control in the room was not working, but the hotel team had it fixed by the time we got back to the room.

The motion lights in the bathroom are a bit odd. One time, they went on in the middle of the night from I assume us moving in bed?? The other flaw is if you get up in the middle of the night, the light will blind anyone sleeping. You will understand when you see the room.

Our shower leaked all over the floor because the seal at the bottom wasn't very tight. Also, the floor in the shower still had dirty sticky residue from the installation.

This hotel is the newest hotel I've ever stayed in. (April 2025). Everything is clean and has the new carpet/new furnishings smell. There were not many patrons at the time of our visit, so you don't see many staff, which is appropriate given their customer volume. The gentleman at the front desk was hospitable and efficient. My request for a late checkout was granted without fuss as was my request for an extra pillow. The lady who managed the complimentary breakfast kept everything spotless and helped me right away when the non-dairy milk ran out. The gym had the latest equipment and was spotless. The only teeny tiny problem I had was with the motion activated lights in the bathroom. It was a bit blinding when you have to pee in the middle of the night. Also, the lights turned off while I...
