My son & I were in town for him to take a CLEP test at CVTC and lucked into finding this tucked away little gem before his test. The food was really good! Fries were a perfect crispness, cheese curds were delicious and our main meal’s were really good…fair warning…portion sizes are large!!! The owner was coming through the dining area every so often and checking on folks…can’t get that all that often anymore…customers matter here. We couldn’t handle desert right after eating, but did come back after his test and got the kiddie size of a couple of Legends…yummy!!! UPDAYE…my husband, myself, and our younger son we’re able to stop here and eat after a high school football game. The food was so good…again! Between the three of us we had the coney dog, pork tenderloin sandwich, and chicken fingers. The Legends we had for dessert were so delicious! We all agree this will be a place to stop when passing through Eau Claire!

For two meals, expect to spend $25. Each will come with an entree, fries, and a shake or Legend (the small is pictured below). So far, all the food is delicious. The ice cream itself isn't top rate (very basic, not super creamy or anything special), but they are very generous with it and the toppings. Don't waste time at Dairy Queen. Come here, get a small legend and split it with someone. It's cheaper and tastes better. Plus the service is friendly and works hard to keep up with the almost always busy dining room. The food is cooked fresh to order and is very tasty. There is a great effort here to source ingredients locally, which feels good and tastes great too.

Roadside Ice Cream and Diner was, and is still, a place my family has loved coming to for The last 20 years. They have delicious food and the BEST soft serve🍔🍦

The family that runs it are some of the hardest working individuals I have met in my life, I have nothing but respect for how many hours, sweat, and tears they put into their business. They work this hard to provide only the best experience for customers like you.

During quarantine they provided work for every employee (not laying anyone off or forcing them to find a job elsewhere in order to pay their bills). During this stressful time, so many people were grateful we were open during this pandemic and helped support Roadside by coming daily.

Hand washing, sanitation of all surfaces, gloves worn when touching ready to eat food, clean uniforms, and other restaurant sanitation regulations have been present since DAY ONE the only thing that has changed was a written statement about their stance in this pandemic.

Shame on any of you who think because it’s not following the norm or that it’s against your own beliefs that they shouldn’t be allowed to have their business. It’s very sad how low you have all bent down (Saying hateful, hurtful things, cyber bullying, bending the rules on honesty) trying to tear down a business you know nothing about all because of a written sign.

May God heal your hearts, you must be hurting on the inside to be able to insult and blame and wish illness on people you don’t know personally. We’re all human here and should be treated with kindness, not just the ones who conform to your...

I ate here today after hearing a lot about it. It’s defintely a relic from years past, but in a good way :-) They have ENORMOUS portions-my breakfast bowl could have fed two, maybe three people. I almost felt guilty for the low price of what I got but that’s the beauty of the place. And their service was super attentive and pleasant. They go out of their way to make it a nice experience and the food looks lovingly picked out with local ingredients. The only negative is the space they have; it doesn’t leave a lot of room for people to sit and feels squished, but they don’t have a large operation and their food shows that. It is all made to order with ingredients you have picked out to make it how you like it and they service it up much quicker than the normal sit down diner. They used to be a Dairy Queen since the 1970s (with the same owners who still work at the restaurant on a daily basis) & although they’ve changed after some juvenile behavior from the Dairy Queen brand (google it) they have steadfastly held onto their local charm & grown their own brand while still serving soft serve with all the trappings you’d get with a DQ but with much, much larger portion sizes and much nicer food that you would never get at a dq. I’m glad very glad they’ve continued in their own tradition yet continued servicing the same dessert items they always have. It’s truly a gem in Eau Claire. I’ll be...

Not really complaining, just stating what you may find and what I experienced, so the public is aware. Service and food quality may be inconsistant. I have been going there for a few years and had my last meal there on Sunday. It cost me $13 about for a non beef Chicago style hotdog (footlong), by taste, slightly dried out sport peppers on top,and the veggies did not taste fresh at all to me. Also I got about 15 onion rings that tasted like a out of the bag product and a soda with my meal. You may find things on their menu that are not worth the price and the Chicago hotdog meal was the only thing I went for. It was not good like last time and I have gotten dried out burgers there before, 2 times. The service Sunday had me ask for silverware, right after I got my food, was not asked if I needed anything like other times after I was handed my food by one of the owners and had to ask for a box and refill before I left; while all the other tables around me were asked if they needed anything after getting their food and checked on 1-4 times after around me. This is just my experience and I am turned off by the price for what I ordered ( other restaurants are less in the area) , the inconsitant food and service...I cannot recommned this place anymore and regret...
