Walmart — Attraction in Eddystone

On Monday, February 17, 2025, at approximately 7:05 PM, I was racially profiled by Walmart employees, located at the Eddystone Store (1570 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022). I had 15 items that I purchased. 12 of the items were cans of dog food. I attempted to checkout at a lane with a cashier, but surprisingly only one lane was opened. Therefore, I proceeded to the self-check out registers. While at self-check out register, I asked a young male clerk (ethnicity unknown) if he could ring up the cans of dog food as one transaction without me having to scan them individually. The male clerk advised me that I needed to scan them individually. I completed my transaction and bagged my items. As I started looking and preparing to move toward the exit, the young male clerk was standing next to an older African American woman clerk who was checking receipts. As I approached the two clerks, the woman clerk sternly and methodically looked over my receipt, and then verbalized to the male clerk that there were 15 items on the receipt. I responded by asking if they thought I was stealing. The male clerk walked away giggling while the woman clerk shrugged her shoulders. I exited the store, then immediately re-entered the store. I went to customer service area where I returned all my items. The young female clerk working the customer service desk asked why I was returning my items. I advised the young female clerk that her coworkers thought I was stealing and that I no longer wanted the items that I purchased. The clerk apologized and refunded my money.

A few minutes after exiting the store and leaving Walmart property, I contacted the acting store manager (Jordan) to explain the above facts.

In this current climate and day and age, I refuse to and will not tolerate being discriminated against, racially profiled, mistreated, made to feel less than, or belittled, especially based on my race and appearance! 11-06-2019: Thank you!! I had left my lightweight jacket in the top part of my shopping cart on Tuesday, 11-5-19 when I put my cart into the cart corral, then drove home without it. I placed a call to the store that evening, but my jacket was still MIA. I returned to the store today for the purpose of purchasing a new lightweight jacket believing I would never see my old one again.

I WAS WRONG......

Turns out someone had found it, and brought it inside to customer service. I claimed my jacket.

I want to take this opportunity to thank whomever found my jacket, and turned it in so I, the owner, could retrieve it. Thank you whoever you are. You're a good person! Jim

The prices are right for ME! In my shopping experiences, food prices can not be beaten. Prescription prices are also the best I've seen. There is an optical center in this store, and a "Subway" store. Next to Subway is Auntie Anne's. There is a garden center. Prices for other store items, from what I have seen so far, are the lowest possible. There is an automotive center in this store. The store is ALWAYS busy. It is well stocked most days. It gets SO busy, shelves empty at times but, they get restocked quickly. Parking is free, and there are handicap spaces available BUT, spaces fill up quickly, be prepared. Good evening Google Family. I visited today on September 30, 2024, Motivational Monday, I cannot believe that this is the last day of September. Tomorrow is October 1st. This is not my first time here. I have visited this Walmart a number of times in the past. I visited today to get a number of items, perishable items as well as non perishable items. I was so happy that I was able to get and find everything on my list today. I love one stop shopping!!! I love finding everything that I need at one location so that I do not have to go all over different places, looking for stuff. I was especially happy that I found some repellant for squirrels. I call him Lucifer, this one squirrel who is always in my backyard. This repellant is for him, thats why I named him Lucifer, because he is the DEVIL!!!! I paid for my items, debit card, at the self checkout counter and away I went. I was so glad because now Mom and I can get something to eat at Stargate Diner.
