I feel violated, I am a constant crosser and never get pulled in to be searched or questioned, today as I crossed at 6:35 pm I was met by a man, (unknown name) he proceeded to take me to the searching part and patted me down my arms, waist and legs. That’s when I got scared due to I can say “trauma” and people might say it’s me being dramatic but I won’t stay quiet. We proceed to walk in to the back which is known as secondary search I believe, I was told to stand on a pillar and I listened and followed instructions, I was nervous so u can see me shake, I have high anxiety especially around people I don’t know, they then proceeded to take me behind a wall where there was metal shelving a computer and a plain of sheet metal against the wall, I was told to put my feet apart and hands on the wall, another agent (unknown name) proceeded to ask me questions about weapons and if I carried any of them. He put his hands over my shoulders and continued as a pat down and the moment I felt violated was when he took his hands in between my legs and touched me I was really uncomfortable and scared, he then took his hands and put them in my pants touched my genital area.
I felt violated, scared, disturbed, disgusted and angry because I was to afraid to let him know I felt that way. But he never took the time to ask if I gave consent to the search and never once asked if I felt threatened or uncomfortable which I did.
I’m speaking about this to let people know that it’s important to speak up about things. Before it’s too late….
Bringing awareness to teens like myself, I am 17 years old and was touched inappropriately by the US border patrol agents in El Paso Texas without consent, advisory or an adult present.
I repeat I am a minor with 17...
Read moreHave exact change going into Juarez (.50 ¢) and exact change coming back (.40¢). Consider taking the bus instead of walking because border patrol consistently let them cut all of the lines adding to the wait. Also do not believe the wait times online or the number of lanes they state open. Online stated a 25-40min wait with 4 lanes open when in fact it was over a 2hr wait with only two lanes open. The organization of the lines is also BS as there is no information on which lines to be in if you have a certain passport or passport ID. Additionally no one follows the two lines that are supposedly to be formed on the bridge for US citizens with passports vs other forms of Id prior to entering the building. Driving would have been a much quicker option if you can handle the parking situation within the city. I 100% feel for people who have no other option than to walk because in the summer with the temperatures that wait can be...
Read moreBorder patrol agents used to be arrogant and abused of their authority to belittle people. I'm glad to see a change but most importantly how united they are now. I feel for them bcs they are understaffed, have no support from our government to protect efficiently the border. I did see how demoralized and with their hands tied-down preventing them from doing their job which is Not only dangerous but critical for the safety of our country. To all the men and women at the El Paso, TX U.S. Customs & Border Patrol, Thank you for holding the line, we do see how flawed and corrupt some higher officials are that have greatly impacted your performance. From my family to yours, please know WE...
