I came to this theatre over the weekend to enjoy a performance put on by my niece's dance company. The staff, who I learned are all volunteers, were courteous and kind as I was helped to my seat and the show itself was so fun!! I hope this dance group comes back to perform at ECC soon, it's so convenient!! Anyway, at some point during the performance a commotion was made by some other patrons caught filming or taking photos. Unsure, but either way, it was disruptive and rude. Not only to the staff but the performers as well. I know not everyone is familiar with theatre etiquette but signs are posted stating neither is allowed. The ushers, doing their job, requested these people stop. Instead of simply following the rules or even being discreet and then stopping when caught/asked, some people felt entitled to do what they wanted and cause a scene instead of quietly apologizing for breaking said rule and enjoying the rest of the dance recital. I hope the kid who is related to those people learned better manners and how to be respectful of the arts and toward hospitality workers. Good grief!
Aside from that, cannot to come back to enjoy this...
Read moreWe've enjoyed several delightful and memorable events at this community theater. That includes seeing musician Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul, and Mary); actor John Lithgow; and Reza, the illusionist. We've also experienced a neighborhood dance recital based on "The Lion King." So much variety in the shows available!
We've usually been seated on the main floor. With the slight slope of the space, we had no problem seeing the full stage. Wonderful acoustics. Comfortable seating.
Plenty of parking since it's a community college campus. Restrooms are convenient and consistently clean. Ticket prices are very...
Read moreGreat venue and amazing staff. Shame about the clientele going to the shows. I was at one recently where the crowd was asked to not film the performance. This is the artists wishes and something I always respect when I see signs posted and am asked by the ushers. However some people attending are so unbelievably rude and un Christian, I witnessed multiple people film the show and when asked by ushers to stop they were verbally and physically abuse towards the staff. Shame on you to anyone that would go to a show and act this way, you do not deserve the arts or the dedication of this theatre...
