Elgin Lanes — Local services in Elgin

visited this alley tonight with some friends, the gentleman working the desk (young guy with multi-colored hair) explained to us that our lane we are sharing has 8 people on it so we will need to sit in the seats of the unoccupied lane next to us. we understood and sat there even though the people next to us weren’t really “sharing” the seats in our lane. halfway through our game, some people took the lanes we were sitting displaced in. we moved to the very corner seats closest to our lane also utilizing some of the chairs behind the lanes so we didn’t have to ruin our bowling shoes going back and forth from the carpet to the lanes.an employee (latino gentleman) came to us and told us we were sitting in the wrong spot, as i was starting to explain that the gentleman who assigned our lane told us we should sit there, a young lady, teenage with reddish hair, interrupted all of us and started telling us we need to sit on the carpet. she proceeded to start to swear at us and call us “dicks” because we were “stealing” someone else’s seats. i told my friends to just pack up our stuff and we can leave. it was a very disappointing experience and as someone who works in the service industry i don’t understand why this young lady thought it was appropriate to be hostile and argumentative towards us. i love to support local businesses and avoid going to big name alleys, but after tonight i would rather pay $100 a game at Bowlero then play for free at...

One of the last bowling alleys in Elgin, and i enjoy it decently. The machines all work well and there is a few problems here and the but they will either fix it or move you to another lane pretty quickly. The food leaves a lot to be desired as its very basic and bland but then again its not a restaurant. The condition of the lanes and balls are actually very good i saw no chips/cracks at all in the 2-3 hours i spent there. They flow down the lane beautifully. Overall a very fun and enjoyable experience would recommend to anyone with a free weekend

BEWARE GROUPON USERS

I called the place before I went there and I asked if they accepted groupon and the guy who answered the phone said yes so I went there and when I showed the groupon they refused it without any valid reason and the guy on the counter had only 1 response "my manager told me not to accept those ask groupon for a refund" that was easier said than done so I contacted groupon and and their customer service was horrible they told me they should have accepted the voucher and told me that the voucher was non refundable so now I have a useless voucher that I paid for and I cant use it thanks a lot I dont reccomend this place if...
