Blur Vital is right about that guy. I have not been there in the summer time in over a year and I got a rude awakening today as to why I stopped going there. The people from City Hall always assume that everyone is up to no good. It's ridiculous. Every time I have gone it's been pretty much empty. I walked in there today and saw that there were only a few people and at first I thought, ok cool, the kids can really have some fun because it's not crowded. I went there with 3 of my kids. My 9 y/o, my 6y/o with severe autism, and my 4 month old. I meant to bring my 6 y/o leash because he likes to run off, but I forgot it. I had my 9 year old holding his hand and walking him through the sprinklers while I took my 4 month old out of the wagon to put him in a cheap Walmart umbrella stroller. My intentions were to just have my 4 month old sit in the stroller next to one of the little sprinklers so he could get a little wet. It makes it easier for me because he can't sit yet and I don't risk him slipping out of my hands when he gets wet. It also helps if my 6 y/o decides to dart off and I have to chase him. My 9 y/o can stand next to the baby while I get my other son. Well the guy you see in Blur's pic started saying something. I didn't know he was talking to me at first because I wasn't doing anything wrong. When he wouldn't shut up, I turned around to see why he was whining so much. All I heard was that I couldn't put the stroller in the sprinklers. Are you serious? What exactly did he think I was gonna do with my son and the stroller? Run around with a 4 month old and just swing him around? Did he think that a cheap umbrella stroller was gonna mess up the precious ground? Kids run around and stomp on it with their shoes, but he's worried about a cheap stroller, that has cheap wheels with a 17 pound baby in it. I'm sure, with as big as he is, just him walking on it does more damage. I didn't go at it with him though. No point in trying to explain anything to him. I got my kids back in the wagon and went right to Warinanco Park's sprinklers. No one policing the park there and yet everything was fine and all the kids were having fun. I will go back to Green Acres as soon as summer is over and the people from City Hall are no longer there. They really ruin it with all their...
Read moreI recently took my kids to a park on a beautiful summer day, and we had a fantastic time! The park had a variety of amenities that catered to children of different ages, ranging from 2 to 8 years old.
One of the highlights was the fountain spray area, which was perfect for the kids to cool off and have fun. I particularly appreciated the presence of a bench nearby, allowing me to stay within close proximity to my children while they played in the water. However, I didn't notice any restroom facilities in the park, so be prepared to change your kids at your own risk.
In addition to the fountain, there was a well-maintained playground and a basketball court, providing plenty of options for active play. We also found a picnic area nearby, which was convenient for a quick snack break.
I was glad to see that the park had a staff lifeguard on duty. It added an extra layer of safety, especially with so many kids running around and engaging in water play. Speaking of which, it's worth noting that some children were using cups to catch water and throw it on each other, even if they were strangers. Personally, I'm not a fan of such behavior, but it's important to keep an eye on your own kids in such situations.
Despite the occasional chaotic moments, the park wasn't overly crowded, allowing my children to freely explore and enjoy the various attractions. However, it's always wise to keep your kids close, given the energetic nature of children at play.
My only minor gripe was that some parents seemed to be less attentive to their kids' actions, allowing them to engage in rowdy play. Nevertheless, overall, we had a blast at the park. It provided ample entertainment and a safe environment for the children to have fun.
I highly recommend this park to other families looking for an enjoyable day out. Just remember to keep an eye on your little ones and be prepared for any...
Read moreSprinklers, kids playground, a few exercise machines, basketball court, and a small shaded seating area make this park a great choice for families. The slides are metal material so it does get hot during the hottest hours. Parents should keep a watchful eye on where the kids play during those times. For our last 3 midday visits, we have encountered the porta potty being cleaned out (which emits an AWFUL smell), so that has been annoying. Everyone at the park will smell it. It doesn't last long, though, so you can continue playing but it's something to...
