Pepe's Driving School — Attraction in Elizabeth

I give Pepe's Driving School overall 4 stars but my driving instructor Cruz 5 stars across the board!!! Not only is Cruz extremely down to earth, he is patient, caring and very knowledgeable. He makes sure you follow the rules of the road and he teaches you simple driving techniques that will help you pass your road test. He encourages you when you do well and swiftly course corrects any errors you make. Thanks to him, I became fully comfortable behind the wheel and ended up passing my road test on my first try after 2 failed attempts in another state. He's always booked and busy, so make sure you schedule your lessons with him about a week in advance. One of the best instructors over at Pepe's Driving School hands down. Thanks again Cruz!

UPDATE I contacted Pepe's Driving School on Thursday November 14th to book 1 last driving lesson w/ Cruz as a refresher before I scheduled some highway lessons. I explained to the receptionist by the name of "Brisa" that I was actually owed a free lesson because of the day I had my scheduled road test, I was incorrectly booked for a lesson that same day. She put me on a brief hold and came back and told me she had a slot open for November 18th at 11am. Knowing firsthand how busy Cruz' schedule typically is, I was very happy and surprised and made sure to confirm before I hung up that the lesson was for Monday November 18th at 11am with Cruz. She confirmed yes and was very swift ending the call.

Fast forward to Monday morning, I'm standing outside waiting for Cruz to arrive when I receive a call from someone else who's voice I didnt recognize, informing me that they were running a few minutes late. I immediately called Pepe's Driving School and calmly explained to the receptionist what happened from the beginning. I explained that I called Thursday to schedule today's lesson w/ Cruz but the person who i spoke to on the phone must have made a mistake. She then tells me that SHE was the one I spoke to on Thursday who booked the lesson and how no mistake has been made. This delusional woman had the audacity to not only NOT take any accountability for making a mistake but instead blamed me and told me that I never specified who I wanted the lesson with! She actually argued with me back and forth, talked over me, and after repeatedly blaming me tells me "Well, just give him a try and see how it goes".

Honestly, Brisa is a rude, snobby, highly unprofessional, incompetent horrible first impression & representation of your business. I've read previous reviews and I see that seems to be a popular opinion amongst many of your past clients complaining about a rude receptionist. Thank God for Marcos, the person who gave me the lesson that day. When he arrived, i was visibly upset almost in tears because of the phonecall with Brisa that ruined my mood and ended up in a shouting match. Marcos helped calm my nerves and provided EXCELLENT service as my instructor that day. He is a professional, personable and very cool guy. Thanks again to the instructors, but thanks to Brisa I will not be booking any more lessons with Pepe's Driving School. My advice to new clients looking to book lessons, ASK WHO YOU ARE SPEAKING WITH WHEN YOU CALL and if it's Brisa hang up and call back later when the other...

My own experience is: first i saw a very clean and orderly place. Then after speaking with the secretary or attendant it was so wonderful cause it so great and pleasant. intelligent, friendly and courteous, very knowledgeable about the subject or job, willing to help, speak Spanish and English, most likely other languages. There's an extend accessible hours to choose according to our availability. Then since first class throw to last one The instructors are very patient, knowledgeable, kind, punctual, and detail-oriented in order to be fully prepared to pass the exam, either before,during and after it, for own safety and everyone's.Their greatest satisfaction, wishes and joy is that we approve the exam, which also certifies good teaching and good learning. Let me tell you there's a interesting and very important the cars is new cars i mean's a Pleasant atmosphere, All mechanical, electrical and in general conditions of the vehicle in good condition.This day, for the first time in my life, I passed drive test; thanks to practice classes at this school, Pepe's Drive Driving School, to whom I am extremely grateful to each and every one of them.To Whom do I recommend. I'm not saying blindly. if not, rather with full knowledge and reasons. already commented. I also had the experience and sadness of seeing several cited fail the practical exam, especially family or friends with their own vehicle who had practiced by themselves but with a lack of tips, advice and details that only driving schools provide us because they are updated and in constant relationship with MVC where normally it is those details that enable us to pass the exam, also some only take a single class, personally it is not enough. finally you decide and you know your capabilities and limitations. I think that the mistake of many is to believe that knowing how to move the vehicle forward and backward, parking is enough because if it were so, no one would fail the exam. without counting the inconveniences due to the time in appointments exhausting the opportunities to obtain the license. I know and understand these mentioned above are not the general rule if we don't all know that there...

If i could give this place zero stars i would. Let me start off my saying i used this school when i did my test 2 years ago. I paid one price and the services included picking me up, letting me drive around, practice parallel parking etc, and then took me to the dmv and let me use the car for the test. The only thing they did not do was wait for me to get my license after passing the test.

Now fast forward to now, i scheduled for them to do the same for my boyfriend, i called and asked for the road test appointment. Now at this point i am already under the impression everything i got when i took my test was included. Apparently that is not the case. My boyfriend went to take the test, he was picked up a hour before his scheduled appointment, with 2 other students in the car, and taken directly to the dmv. If this was the service i was paying for the lady i spoke to should have communicated that with me prior to taking my payment. As a business you need to assume your customers do not know what your services provide, especially when there is no information on the “website”.

That being said, anyone looking to use this school let me do they’re job and tell you what the services included since they do not.

$100 2hr practice $90 to use the car for the road test with no practice ($101.67 if paying with card).

Please be advised to ask as many questions as needed even though they can be super rude. Better to know then be left...
