I love Mattano Park. I grew up playing in this park among others and it is one of my favorites. Although it may smell awful at times due to the river nearby (especially during the summer), the park itself is definitely worth visiting. It has bathrooms, a water fountain (not sure if it still works), a little spray park area, two separate playgrounds (two of which are for smaller children), a soccer field with night lights, a volleyball court, basketball courts, a baseball area with sand, a metal exercise station, two circular paths that you can walk or run on, a circular area of tables atop a hill, and a skate park. Read moreThe is a great park, it essentially has three different playgrounds one of which is for children with disabilities. My issue is that there isn't any water fountains. They do have picnic tables and even grills which is awesome. One thing that's concerning is one evening we were there and a truck came by to spray for something and the wind drifted it to us. It wasn't pleasant. The city really should wait to spray any chemicals until the park is empty. I wouldn't be surprised if between that and the air port that kids around...
Read moreThis park is huge. You have to make sure not to lose minors and keep watch of them at all times. The park is mostly clean. We feel that there could be more fun activities. It is a glorified large field really.
