I initially started this request through a Groupon offer. However, once I saw that there were specific measurements in order to qualify for the Groupon, I sent a request for information and my “basic rudimentary” measurements to the company before I purchased the Groupon. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Ish, yup that’s her name! SHE IS AWESOME!!! Might I mention she is very patient and understanding with…”aggressive” clients! wink She told me that I did not qualify for the Groupon. However, she gave me an estimate with sink option and without sink option and she addressed all of my questions without making me feel intimidated. This was my first big project in my condo and I wasn’t sure of all the protocols here. After being hassled with the inconvenience of submitting documents to my condo association, the job was paid for and scheduled ready for install. They required a 50% deposit and full payment at the end. It’s better if you pay by check or cash as they initiate a 4% extra charge for credit card. They also charge extra for disposal of the material at $2/sq.ft. If anyone is thinking of using this company, you might want to know this up front. First, the contractor came out to measure everything and he had a schematic and he drew it on engineer paper with measurements that I didn’t even think of. He measured the back splash, under the counter where it meets the cabinet, around the dishwasher and ensured that all measurements were accounted for. He showed me his work and I signed off on it. A few days later, my install was scheduled and for the most part, the contractors were very professional. I had more difficulty with dealing with my condo management office than I did with the Precision Stone crew. They arrived before their scheduled time and came in to inspect the site. Once they were confident in what they were to expect, they started to tear out the old counter and prepare to install the new counter. My husband chose, “Chicago Gold” and it fit well in my kitchen design. The crew consisted of two people, Artemio and I can’t remember his helpers name but they were very nice. After all was said and done, they cleaned up after themselves and left. The only problem we encountered with the measurements was that the first guy that came out to measure did not account for the slant in cabinets…neither did I as I took it for granted that, “he knew what he was doing”! I called Ish and explained the situation and she immediately scheduled me for that same Saturday to complete the install. The only pieces left were the back splash pieces. On that Saturday, Armando came in, early, and completed the install and my counter tops look great! I was afraid to get into something like this and what made it more intimidating was the fact that my condo association was being a jerk about the whole thing. My counter tops look great and I want to thank Precision Stone for making this a painless encounter. I want to recommend Ish as your contact as she knows how to handle, “aggressive” people without losing her cool!
Thanks Precision Stone Design for your professionalism!!! I will most definitely recommend this for another job and will look to them for when I want to remodel my...
Read moreI am giving Precision Stone Design 4 Stars, because the counter tops were amazing, but we had issues with the tile backsplash.
For the Countertop:
The reason we stopped by Precision Stone Design was because they had all brands of countertops in stock. We could compare the samples of multiple manufacturers in one place. Many other places we shopped at only had a few samples in stock, and they would have to order several of the colors we were interested in. Precision Stone Design had a large variety of samples from many different manufacturers in stock. We met Hellen and she was absolutely amazing. She helped us get a really good price on the countertop. She was able to beat all other competitors by a significant amount, plus they were able to remove our existing tile backsplash. If you go to Precision Stone Design, ask for Hellen! They guys who measured the countertop showed up on time for their appointment. They took laser measurements. When we received our countertop, it fit precisely. Migual and Berten removed and installed the countertop, as well as removed our existing backsplash. They did a great job cleaning up after installation. We have received many compliments on our countertop, as well as surprise that it is not one piece. No one can tell where the seam is.
For the tile backsplash:
Precision Stone Design was able to order the tile for us for the backsplash. They arraigned to have Chris install the backsplash tile. Chris did not show up for his first appointment to measure the amount of tile needed. When the tiles came in, we did not receive the tiles we were supposed to. Precision Stone Design ordered the tiles for us, and failed to communicate that there were no double bullnose tiles for the corners. As Chris installed the tile, he used inferior grout and left a mess on our brand-new countertops! Every time we wash the countertops, it feels gritty along the tile backsplash. We have bought new grout to fix the back because of this issue. In addition, he got grout in one of our outlets. I would not recommend going through Precision Stone Design for the tile backsplash. Through all of our issues with the backsplash, Hellen helped us out. She communicated with us and tried to fix any problems we had. She is an amazing sales person. I would recommend Precision Stone Design for the countertops, but not the tile backsplash. And...
Read moreWe recently renovated a bathroom and I found Precision Stone Design through an online search. I was looking to stay within a specific budget and it seemed that Precision Stone Design could help me do that. I began working with Tom and he was very helpful in identifying options in my budget that fit the design I was looking to achieve. (It's worth noting that my visit to the design studio felt very safe and clean during the pandemic and everyone was following mask and distance protocols.) The delivery date I needed was several weeks out and that was not a problem either. Tom and I stayed in contact and once we knew when the cabinet would be in, we were able to schedule a prompt measurement and install date. A few weeks before the install date, we developed an unrelated issue with our undermount kitchen sink. It pulled away from our countertop after I accidently dropped a watermelon in the sink. I called a plumber, but he said that I needed a countertop company to fix that. Even though Precision Stone Design was not the vendor we used for our kitchen countertops 8 years earlier, I contacted Tom to see if they could help repair the sink since they were going to be here anyway for the bathroom. Tom was very responsive to helping us with that repair. The gentleman who came to measure the bathroom looked at our kitchen sink as well to determine what the repair would entail. It turned out that the sink was never installed properly by the other vendor, but he said it wouldn't be an issue for Precision to repair it. On the day of the bathroom install and kitchen repair, the three gentlemen who came were so nice and professional! The bathroom install went without a hitch and they took the time to really fix our issues with the kitchen sink. They removed the kitchen sink completely, scraped all of the old adhesive from underneath the countertop, and then properly installed the kitchen sink. The overall price for the bathroom and repair were reasonable and fair. I was so happy to have been working with Precision Stone Design when this all happened. While we are done renovating our house now, I would recommend Precision Stone Decision in a heartbeat for anyone who is looking to any kind of countertop project,...
