Stepping into Meson del Taco Jr., located in a former Starbucks, you're immediately welcomed with a trio of salsas—salsa verde, salsa habanero, and a tomato-based salsa—along with a generous basket of fresh, hot tortilla chips. While the habanero and verde salsas were on the runny side, the tomato salsa tasted like highly concentrated canned tomatoes, which was a disappointment. The menu offers a nice variety, including tacos, fajitas, sopes, and authentic weekend specials like pozole and menudo. The meat selections for the tacos looked appealing and tender, but both the ribeye steak and steak tacos were on the dry side. The grilled chicken had a great seasoned flavor, but it also lacked the typical juicy tenderness you'd expect. On a positive note, the restaurant is very accommodating to those with allergies, with clear information posted both in the dining area and on the menu. The space is clean with plenty of seating, and the bathrooms were well-maintained. It's a solid spot with good options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff was incredibly understanding, attentive, polite, and genuinely grateful to host us. They handled our large group with ease and professionalism beyond my expectations. Every detail — from the service to the timing — was handled perfectly.
