I stumbled upon this fascinating place by accident on the way to the San Diego Botanical gardens which it's right next to. It was hosting an antique fair that day which made it even more interesting to visit. There are a variety of things to see and explore here including old farming equipment, an antique buggy, historic buildings and the museum itself. All the equipment, furniture and buildings are from the farming community of Olivenhain located just East of Encinitas. While the museum is fairly small, it is a nice outing especially for children to learn about the history of the local area and is staffed with knowledgeable volunteers and docents. We made sandwiches to bring with, and they have lots of picnic tables to sit and eat. I certainly recommend it to families and people who just want to know about our history. Very cool artifacts...
