Becoming a patient of Dr. Stengler has changed my life. This is my story: at 14 years old, I began rapidly gaining weight, increasingly feeling sick, breaking out in major acne, noticing my bowel movements reduced down to once a week at most, and feeling odd, sharp pains in my stomach area. To a teenage girl, the worst part to me was that I gained almost 60 pounds in a matter of months. Additionally, I became sensitive to almost all processed foods and all forms of gluten and dairy. As a result of the drastic plummet of my energy and the increasing severity of my illness, my running career that I had been working on as long as I could remember suddenly ended.

Naturally my family, friends and I were confused, scared, and in shock that something so severe could happen to my body so quickly and so out of the blue. Triggered by nothing that we knew of. (I still have no idea to this day what caused my sudden illness).

Fast forward 5 years. I had been to over a dozen different doctors, specialist, chiropractors, weight loss clinics, etc. Every single one of them had given up on me and told me they could not help.

You might wonder why I included the above part in my review. You might think it has nothing to do with Dr. Stengler. But I decided to include my background because it has everything to do with Dr. Stengler. He was the only person who believed my story and was able to offer me a solution! If you or someone you love has a story even remotely like mine, visiting Dr. Stengler will be the best decision you ever make!!

When I finally found Dr. Stengler, he was the first doctor I have ever been to who did not give up on me. He did not tell me I was crazy or lying or "imagining" my health problems. He simply listened to me explain what was wrong and immediately started me on a combination of supplements and natural prescriptions. If I tell him something about my health that he has never seen in another patient before, he simply responds with the best way he knows how to fix it.

If you are looking for someone who will simply listen to your health problems, believe what you say, and offer you a solution, look no further because Dr. Stengler is that doctor!

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART OF MY REVIEW!!!: Several years after my initial visit with Dr. Stengler, my brain fog and headaches have been eliminated entirely, my constipation has been eliminated for the first time in over a decade, my "stomach pains" (which turned out to be intestinal and liver pains) have been completely gone for over a year, I have more energy on a daily basis then I have had since I was 15, and I am able to exercise almost the same amount as I was before I got sick. My health is not quite back to where I was at the age of 14 before all of my sickness began, but at the age of 21, I am closer than I have ever been before. This is all because Dr. Stengler never gave up on me, and he has done nothing but help me through this journey.

I came to Dr. Stengler because modern medicine severely damaged my health without regard. I was casually prescribed overly powerful antibiotics by a dentist, which destroyed the flora of my gut. Shortly thereafter, I developed a case of invasive candida and an array of food allergies with reactions similar to irritable bowel syndrome.

I spoke with my primary healthcare provider about invasive candida. The response was that because it was statistically unlikely, it wasn’t even worth a simple stool test. My special circumstance was ignored because the odds were that I was either lying or paranoid. Additionally, I asked about treating my food allergies, which garnered the response that as long as I avoid the foods I’m allergic to, that’s all modern medicine would recommend I do. It wasn’t about maintaining quality of life, but rather cutting my losses and trying to just get by.

Dr. Stengler cared more than to just get me out of the office before the next patient arrived. He listened to my symptoms, gave me his theories about what might be wrong with me, and performed tests. He’s just as much of a doctor as any other I’d visited, but is actually willing to search for the root cause of my health issues instead of treating the symptoms.

First, any actions that he performed or medicines/supplements he prescribed were based on data from real medical tests he ran on me. Everything was based on real examination including blood, saliva, and stool tests. Secondly, after helping to improve my condition, he continually follows up with me to make sure that my quality of life is continually improving, including follow-up examinations to track progress.

Since seeing Dr. Stengler, I have been rid of all candida and have begun restoring normality to the erratic blood sugar levels it had caused. Additionally, he has helped me to improve my adrenal levels to overall increase my energy. He has helped improve my sleeping habits with natural supplements (I previously would lie awake in bed 1 to 3 hours every night) and overall bettered my quality of life. Now that my health is stabilizing, we are working at combating my food allergies.

Dr Stengler is the answer to people who are searching for their health needs to be met. No case is too odd, and he’ll see you through to better health. He genuinely cares about improving the lives of...

I was referred to this clinic by a medical professional who heard about my experience and has since stopped referring her clients to Dr. Stengler.

If you are seeking real help, where any kind of compassion is needed, then I suggest that you look elsewhere as there are a lot of similar clinics opening up around San Diego.

I spent A LOT of $ on what ended up being nothing at all...a first consult, some fiber, a meal replacement and a very expensive saliva test. I saw Dr. Angela and while she seemed to have an idea of what was going on with me, I left with no resolution to my issue. She had told me that she would adjust a prescription as soon as one lab came back.

Unfortunately, when that lab did come back and I followed up with her, it was as if she didn't remember who I was. It took her 3 days to reply, even after I called several times. And her response completely opposite of the help she said she would offer after a lab came back. Her manner was also cold and caustic. I learned that when I returned (and paid another BIG sum of money), at that point, she would address the issue and tell me the course of action.

I was in a very vulnerable position when I went to see Dr. Angela and she received me by over charging me (charged me the Dr. Mark price) and told me I needed supplements which I have learned, I really didn't need at all. I am not naive, I understand that these things can be expensive, this was a RIDICULOUS amount of money.

I have since reached out to Dr. Mark about my experience and he has not replied or acknowledged me in any way. I'm not a fan of leaving bad reviews, but I also feel like the experience was bad enough that I need to do so in this case. And the lack of follow up really made me realize how little patient care actually means to this group.

So I am writing this now to let others know that there are so many other places in San Diego that do what these guys do, but who are much more reasonably priced and they actually care.
