Very disappointed in my experience at this store last night. I live in walking distance from the store and go there very frequently. I constantly donate items to the store so it really rubbed me the wrong way when I was pretty much accused of stealing while on the phone with my coworker——. This has always been my “go to” thrift store since it is opened. A major perk of the store is that they are open late. More times than I can count (Going back as far as last summer) I would go in that store in the evening at 7 PM and the gentleman that works there would hound me down to make Sure to tell me that the dressing room is close at 7:45, even though they are open until 9pm. Not a big deal, but I always felt uncomfortable by the way he approached me. He would make it a point to approach me as I’m shopping (not while I walk in the door) and every person At some point while they were shopping in the store. You would think this would be done as people enter or I know that they have an intercom there where they can make this announcement. Why does he personally have to approach you? Not as You enter, but after you not even paying attention, you’ll turn and he’s right in your face *Very odd to say the least . After last night, he should be reported :Last last night I went in there around 8 PM to look around. I was in there about five minutes and received a phone call as I’m on my phone the same gentleman Hunt me down, insists on interrupting my phone. Call to tell me that my purse needed to go behind the cash register because it was too big to be in the Store. I look at him, appalled for two reasons one being I’m on the phone and I’ve already been in the store for quite some time and holding a large Bowl in my hand And the second reason being I love my black purse lol and I’ve had it for almost a year. Same Purse I carry in there every single time I go. Like I said, I am a frequent shopper and donator to the store. I haven’t been in there shopping over 50 times and see him frequently. I tell him I’ve never had an issue wearing this person here before but OK I will take it to the front counter and as I started walking to the front counter, he persisted to walk so close behind me continuing To lecture me about my purseto as I am on the phone with a coworker. By the time I got halfway to the register, extremely upset because he still was talking to Me while following so close behind me that it made me uncomfortable. I got upset, turned around and told him He is being extremely rude-But that did not seem to phase him, and he continued. I put my item on the shelf that I was holding and left the store An embarrassment because by this time, everybody in the store is looking and my coworker is wondering what is happening. Is this a new policy of yours where you keep customers purse behind the register if It’s a medium size purse? I am more than willing to send you a picture of my purse that I walked in...
Read moreIt's a decent thrift store, nice to have in the neighborhood. But, as another person mentioned, the manager isn't great.
I also live within walking distance & regularly shop there. The manager will often, if not every night, turn off the music at 8pm & order his employees to announce the store is closing (at 9pm) continuously until, presumably, everyone is gone & he closes asap. He'll hover around shoppers to intentionally make them uncomfortable & stand at the counter staring at people angrily. Last night, he had the cashier announce they were closing (at 9pm) & to "make your final purchases" at 8:25pm.
I'm certain there are more people experiencing this, who just want a place to wander around in the evening. More people should complain. If he doesn't want to manage the store properly, then he shouldn't have the job.
And yes, he does indirectly accuse shoppers of stealing, especially the regulars. I have given him my shopping bags but it is incredibly inappropriate to ask for someone's purse. I don't trust anyone working there not to...
Read moreI go here about once a week and find nice stuff. However two days ago my wife and I were checking out. We were in a bit of a hurry to make it to an appointment and left without taking all of our things. We discovered it the next morning (less than 16 hours later) and upon calling them was told the items we paid for were likely restocked. It is unethical to take money for an item and to not even give the customer 24 hours to come and get it before you put it back up for sale. I went in with my receipt, found the items and told the manager I would be taking them as I had just paid for them yesterday. She apologized profusely as I was leaving the store with my items. Just make sure you have everything you paid for when you leave, or they WILL put it back immediately and you’ll be left to pick...
