South Inlet, Delaware Seashore State Park — Attraction in Fenwick Island

What a nice place to take the family. The beach is a short distance away. You can drive your car the the other side of highway to park. Dog friendly beach is about 100 yards south of the restaurant . There is a RED SIGN up next to the dunes showing where it begins. Our dogs first time to the water was there and loved it. There is no shade or grass at the campground , that's is a down side. When we were there a couple days before Labor day the park was 95 % full. But was SO QUIET the whole time. And after dark there was no noise at all. But for a soft background of the highway. The guy working July 5th around 1:47 at the collection shack was very rude. I pulled up and showed my active duty military ID (military get in to all state parks) and he was really rude and told me I couldn't get in without paying money. I asked him was this not a state park and he ignored me and kept saying "in state or out of state?" Not knowing what he was talking about, I said "I am not sure what you mean? I live in DE because I stationed here." He repeated the question again. I told him I didn't have cash on me and he told me to pay at the kiosk. It wasnt about the money, it was about the attitude. We are in-state. Drove up to the guard shack and it said to use the kiosks. Got a spot near the steps of The Big Chill and went to that kiosk since two of the five kiosks were covered up (really, in the middle of Summer?). After following along with my credit card I got all the way to the end and it gave me an error while trying to print the ticket. Perhaps out of paper? I ended up having to walk to the far North end of the parking lot to use that kiosk and it worked fine.🙄 So here is this huge parking lot with only 5 kiosks and two are out of order?
